Blaze9
Hi, I recently bought a second SSD to do RAID1 for my cache pool. I connected the SSD to a free slot on my SAS card (LSI SAS9201-8i) and Unraid wouldn't boot. It kept on saying "Please insert bootable disk and try again". Once I removed the new SSD and restarted, unraid booted up. I tried again on a second sata cable coming from the SAS card and same thing. Then I connected it to my last free SATA port on my mobo and the system booted up no problem. Is there a way to enable using the SAS card for the SSD? It's a Crucial MX500. Thanks! JorgeB
That looks more like a boot order issue, sometimes boot order can change with added devices, but note that trim won't work with the 9201 and mx500, so might as well leave it onboard. Quote Link to comment
Blaze9
Ahh no sorry I forgot to include that. I have everything disabled aside from the boot USB drive on the server, it wasn't the boot order. And awesome, yeah that is good info to know as well about TRIM. But I'm worried more drives would do the same thing if I add them in. Right now I have 2 out of the 8 drives filled on my SAS card. Will need to test this out in the future with more HDDs when I add them in. Quote Link to comment
