lavellse
Hi friends, I've just set up unraid on a new storage server to replace my decade old Drobo setup. I need to migrate my data, which is on said Drobo that is attached to a Ubuntu box that runs Samba. I'm undecided between connecting the Drobo directly to the new box, or mounting the old share on the new box and copying over the network, but either way I'm going to be interacting with the Unraid share from the terminal. I located what I think is the virtual link for the Unraid share in /mnt/user/ from the Samba conf but I'm not sure if there's anything I need to be wary of if I'm cp-ing my data into there directly rather than accessing the Unraid share by Samba? Thanks in advance for your advice Quote Link to comment
trurl
Not having used Drobo, I'm not entirely clear on your scenario. How does Drobo "attach directly"? 1 Quote Link to comment
lavellse
It's a USB DAS, that has NTFS volumes on it. I was leaning towards just plugging it in and mounting the ntfs volumes and just doing a big old cp into /mnt/user/mynewshare/ Quote Link to comment
lavellse
I've been able to achieve what I want by using the Unassigned Devices plugin 1 Quote Link to comment
