PGK
Hi I have new issue. I rebooted my server (called Tower) and it is now asking for Tower login. The web interface doesn't work but I can access the system directly and get the aforementioned error message. I've been using this for years and never had this issue before. Quote Link to comment

If you are referring to the login prompt you get from an attached monitor and keyboard, that is completely normal. The login username is root and the password is blank (just hit return for the password) or whatever password you had previously set for the root user. If that isn't what you mean then try again to explain your problem. If you do get logged in, see this "Need Help?" sticky pinned near the top of this same subforum for instructions on how to get us your diagnostics: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/37579-need-help-read-me-first/ Quote Link to comment
PGK
Thanks very much for your help. It was asking for the login prompt (first time ever, it normally reboots without this), I run it headless usually. I was able to enter root as username but then it says the following Linux 3.4.36-unraid (tty1) root@tower :~# I still can't get logged in, any suggestions? Quote Link to comment

Were you actually getting an error message, or were you just getting the login prompt? I run headless also. It always gives a login prompt at the console, and logging into the console is not required to use the webUI. And it looks like you did successfully login to the console. Did you read the link I gave on how to get us more information? Quote Link to comment
PGK
Thanks. I guess I've logged in, the webGUI is now working. It looks like a hard drive failure. I'll replace the drive and see how it goes. Thanks again Quote Link to comment
