November 29, 201015 yr Figures I bought one on Friday and today they go on sale. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136514 Anyone else have this kind of luck.
November 29, 201015 yr You could always live in Canada where New Egg is selling the exact same drive for $120. The dollar is about 1:1, and it ships from the same warehouse as the one you'd buy. I'm not sure what New Egg is thinking, they are not competitive in the Canada market at all.
November 29, 201015 yr Or just shop at NCIX in Canada http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=49591&promoid=1264 $89.99 until Dec 1
November 29, 201015 yr Or just shop at NCIX in Canada http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=49591&promoid=1264 $89.99 until Dec 1 Oh I know, That's where I normally buy my parts. I'm just saying, New Egg has been so disappointing in Canada. At first they refused to ship to Canada. Now that they do, they charge us so much more than their US customers for the exact same product coming from the exact same warehouse. NCIX rocks, they are to us what New Egg is to our friends down south.
November 29, 201015 yr I'm not your friend, buddy. I'm not your buddy, guy. I'm not your guy, friend. Sorry, couldn't help myself....

I was told a while ago, that importing merchandise from A US based company and/or person requires that both the receiver and the shipper pay import duties. I didn't believe it, but was told by someone who purchased an expensive lava lamp. She got hit with import duties as did the guy in the US selling the lava lamp. Now when I sell to her she has me mark it as gift with a value of $18.

I've bought many things from the US, several where I knew the person sending it and it's only the receiver that pays duty charges, not the sender. Basically the package will get to the border and be held in customs. If they decide to charge the receiver, then it's a COD deal where I'd only receive it if I pay the fee. New Egg has all of that built in, they charge us for S&H and Canadian taxes (13% in Ontario). That should cover things for Canadian Customs as all they really want is the 13% tax. If New Egg are building in some sort of brokerage fee into their prices, they shouldn't have bothered coming to Canada. Anyway, sorry for derailing this thread so much. To sum it up: Americans can buy a 2TB WD Ears for $89.99 from New Egg Canadians can buy a 2TB WD Ears for $89.99 from NCIX Cheers!
