PantThrower
I'm very new to unraid and server setup so this maybe normal but.... I've got two 960gb ssd's as my cache pool and after running the Mover there is still always 399gb used. I've attached a screen grab just after the Mover finished. Is this expected or have I missed something? Edited January 9, 2020 by PantThrower Quote Link to comment

Shares for VMs for example stay on the cache device for performance reasons. Do you use VMs or played around with them? Quote Link to comment

You can SSH into the server and look under /mnt/cache to see what is currently being saved there. Will give you an idea as to what Share to fix. 399GB is a tiny bit on the excessive side unless you are running some high capacity vdisks. Quote Link to comment

May ay with them in the future but still finding my feet with the basics. I've only got 4 shares in addition to the default ones. media and backup are set Yes to 'use cache'. My games and data share are set to PREFER. Might the 'minimum free space' setting have a bearing? Quote Link to comment
bastl
Prefer keeps them on the cache as long as the limit isn't reached. Quote Link to comment
PantThrower
So looking at the folders my data share still has 369gb on the cache drive and is set to prefer - problem solved. Many thanks. Quote Link to comment
