Old drivers as plugin.

Featured Replies

Hi all,

With the new version that no longer supports Intels 82575 NIC, would there be a need for an "Obsolete driver bank"?

I am thinking a layout much like Nerd tools, where users can select the needed driver for their unit. (not limited to NICs).

I think a plugin in like this would help a good portion of users, using older hardware. And since older hardware is unlikely to have drivers updated. It should be fairly easy to maintain. (Please note this is based on experiences from Microsoft-world.)

It's still supported, driver was replaced with the out-of-tree version, not removed.

@johnnie.black I stand corrected. Yet my suggestion still remains.
