If you do decide to get this drive make sure you upgrade the firmware.  Search the forums and you'll find out why.

    It's impossible to tell if you successfully flashed the drive with the new firmware, since the firmware revision is identical. You literally have to attempt to duplicate the bug which corrupts your data in order to determine if the firmware flash succeeded or not.

     

    Any sane person would avoid these drives like the plague.

    ^^Agree.  I was steering clear of them before because of the 4k sectors.  But now I'm avoiding them like the plague because of the firmware issue.  Once a new firmware revision number is available so you can know that the bug has been fixed I'll go back to just steering clear of them.  ;D
