Find GUID from Command Line?

Featured Replies

Is there anyway to find the GUID of a flash from the command line?

I am assuming you have unRAID booted but for some reason don't have network access?

So long as unRAID is running you can try this.

Ah sorry... All my searches kept showing me GUIDE instead of GUID.

I'm in the process on a stick upgrade and don't want to insert it into my main box so trying to do it 'offline'

Thanks

For the record here's the command:

wget localhost/devices.htm -q -O - | sed -n "/Flash/,/tr\\>/p"

I had to run it twice. First was blank, but the second time I got the printed response (in case someone else runs into a similar situation)

You can use this to get serial numbers off of USB devices

cat /proc/bus/usb/devices

Both do not work for me. I am running 5.0.4... I also don't have /proc/bus/usb directory.

Any hints?

I agree, we need a new method for 5. It doesn't work the same due to the difference in screens.

Rather than fight with it, I just loaded on a 4 image, grabbed the GUID, and then went back to 5.

Worked fine after that.
