DieFalse
Hello everyone, I have a problem I don't understand enough to know what angle to go about fixing it. I have acquired some 4Kn drives (8tb SAS drives) that my rig was supposed to be able to handle, The backplane's are SAS compatible and I have the following HBA Setup: 2x LSI SAS3008 - 9300-8i cards 2x RES3TV360 expanders powering my 42 bay rig. SFF-8643 to SFF-8643 from the HBA to the expander. SFF-8643 to SFF-8087 from the expander to the backplane. Googling shows that the 9300-8i's should detect and work with 4Kn and I can't find any reason the expanders won't. Any idea's? I would really like to add the 10 8tb drives to my rig. JorgeB
Google "3.3v sata pin" if it's not that then please post the diagnostics: Tools -> Diagnostics Quote Link to comment
DieFalse
I have a couple normal drives that have the 3.3v pin, the 4kn sas drives do not have this pin that I can tell. arcanine-diagnostics-20200417-1645.zip Quote Link to comment
DieFalse
Nevermind. Turns out they do have 3.3v pins. Removed and they are working as expected. Thanks! Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
Only took a quick look but everything looks normal, though there are a lot of nerdpack tools installed, make sure you need them all. 1 Quote Link to comment
