jsmontague
UnRaid sent an alert yesterday that one of my hard drives pending sector count increased so after reviewing some notes and posts I wanted to make sure my understanding was right. It has a "PASS" for health but if I look at a few areas I think this disk might finally need replaced. SMART extended results attached. The values "raw_read_error_rate" and "multi_zone_error_rate" are not incrementing but they are high and now a pending sector this guy should go right? Disk passed a recent extended SMART test, so it's fine for now (or it was at that time) and the pending sector is a "false positive", but SMART is showing some issues, likely will have more problems in the near future. jsmontague
Thanks for checking! I just ran an extended smart test yesterday after the UnRaid alert. So this drive is still "on its way out" then vs on the edge of death? Quote Link to comment

jsmontague
I have a drive on standby as I have a couple of these guys with high counters but are running fine for last few months in unRaid and years prior in my windows server. Might just bight the bullet and get started swapping them out while they are running I guess. Its only money right 😂 Thanks for help! Quote Link to comment
