testdasi
Background: I got a warning that a disk is missing in my BTRFS RAID-5 pool. Turned server off to investigate and for some reasons the SATA cable is slightly loose on the missing drive. No SMART error. Refixed cable, turn server back on and disk showed back up. No unmountable or stuff like that. Q1: I assume I just need to run a scrub with correction and that should recalculate parity for anything that wasn't written to the offline disk? Q2: Is there any reason to run btrfs scrub without correction? Quote Link to comment

Yep, and check that all errors are corrected. 1 minute ago, testdasi said: Q2: Is there any reason to run btrfs scrub without correction? No. 2 Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Also good practice to monitor btrfs pools so you'll know right away when there's a problem. 1 Quote Link to comment
