droopie
I just started a parity check and not seeing any errors besides my cache drive being a pos. I don't see any errors being corrected and no errors in the array but my shares are empty. Just noticed it while trying to load a movie an via nfs share. My cache drive acts up but usually fixes after a reboot but it does this mainly during parity checks I noticedb but not the shares, it's the first time that I see but then again I try to let unraid do it's thing and don't use it during parity checks. server-diagnostics-20200818-0005.zip Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Your cache device dropped offline, suggest not connecting it to the HBA, use one of the onboard Intel SATA ports, swap with another disk if needed. Quote Link to comment
droopie
Will this effect the parity check? Or should I run it again? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Just now, droopie said: Will this effect the parity check? Nope, cache is outside parity. 1 Quote Link to comment
droopie
so parity check was 100% without any issues. when i restarted, the shares worked again and the cache drive returned to normal operation without any changes. can u peek my diag to see if you see something wrong? not sure why this happens. still, will be replacing the cache disk and putting it to the onboard sata when i find a good ssd deal. server-diagnostics-20200818-1421.zip Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
When you restarted cache likely came back up online, still recommend using an Intel SATA port for the SSD, if for nothing else so that it can be trimmed. Quote Link to comment
