ZenBuddha
My USB flash drive completely stopped working. Won't work in any computer I plug it in. I don't have a backup of my flash but I do have CA backup from earlier this month. I know which drive is the parity drive and which one is the cache but I have no idea what the rest of the drives were assigned to. My restore of the CA backup is in deep storage and will take several hours. Can I move forward by assigning the Parity Drive and then just assigning the data drives to any Disk slot? Or do I need to know which disk each one was assigned to? Thanks for any help. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
If you're sure about the parity drive (and are using single parity) data drive order doesn't matter. Quote Link to comment
ZenBuddha
Thank you. That is useful. The one thing that is stopping me is the warning that says "All existing data on this device will be OVERWRITTEN when array is Started." Is there a checkbox or a setting I'm missing so that won't happen? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Check the box "parity is already valid" before starting array, but still a good idea to run a parity check after. Quote Link to comment
