  • 6.10.0-RC2 VM Video Problem

I upgraded from 6.9.2 to 6.10.0-RC2 to convert a Windows 10 VM to Windows 11 for testing. However, when I start the Windows 10 VM, the video is locked at 800x600 and doesn't seem to recognize the video card - NVIDIA 970. The passthrough seems to be working since the video does display.

Any suggestions on where to start? I have attached my diagnostics file.

Sounds like it could be a case of error code 43 for the display adapter, check the device manager for that.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your Nvidia card, the older drivers does not permit to use a Nvidia card in a VM.

That seems to have fixed the problem. I guess I should have tried the drivers first thing, but give that nothing changed except the version of Unraid, and the VM worked with the older driver before, it never crossed my mind that upgrading Unraid would affect the video driver in a VM.

Thank you for the suggestion and help! I now have a Windows 11 VM successfully running.
