  • [7.0.0-beta.2] VM storage location only Pools / Array - Unassigned disks are no longer available as a storage location.

    • Minor

Under Unraid 6.12.10 it was possible to freely select the storage location under the settings of each VM.

    - Array
    - Pools
    or
    - Unassigned Disks

But with Unraid 7beta2 only Array / Pools can be selected as storage location.

Unassigned disks are no longer available as a storage location.

I have not changed anything around that support but will investigate when I can. Does the disk need to be mounted for it to show?

If I had mounted a drive under Unassigned Devices I could select this drive as location for VMs.

I think this may not be due to the “Unassigned Devices” plugin. A lot has changed in the VM Template / GUI area with Unraid 7.

Maybe related to the override function I have added but need to check. Yes there a lot of changes, and more to come in future releases.

Will this affect all similar folder-selectors elsewhere in Unraid?

At the moment Unassigned Devices don't appear in the File Manager UI either

I have 2 USB drives and 3 remote shares mounted with UD that aren't showing up there

Anywhere the file picker is used will also show UD disks.  The answer is yes.
