  1. Thank you for your input BRiT,

    You are right:

    tmpfs          128M  128M    0 100% /var/log

    Obviously went out of room.

What is causing this and how to resolve it?

My unraid is living on a 8GB flash drive and have a lot of space in there.

  2. Dear community,

Due to a memory leakage in one docker i ran out of ram. As a result the syslog stopped logging. The docker issue has been resolved, but syslog remained silent.

How do I restart syslog? I know the easy way is to restart the Unraid but I would like to avoid this step.

  3. I haven't seen any problems with high memory use when I tested the docker, but I'll check it out.

I haven't moved my oscam from my VM to docker yet as I had some problem getting a pcsc reader to work in docker. I'll see if I can get my sat dish and card up running again to stress test it here and see if I get the same problem.

I know that it doesn't show the build number, but that is a problem of the ppa of oscam. I haven't had the time to convert the container to use git yet. I have no idea when I get the time though.

If you want your own version you will have to build your own container or access the container you have and modify it. If you want to try a newer version you can do an apt update/upgrade inside the container.

    Hi saarg,

    Just to report:

OScam version inside the container was suffering severe memory leakage. In 12 hours it was using all of the memory of the server with just 6 peers in cache-exchange, 4 local cards and 20 cccam exchange.

I followed your advice and updated oscam inside the container to the latest version r10647 (as of today).

No more memory leakage and the oscam is performing as it should.

Additionally now oscam is reporting it's version in the web interface unlike the initial svn version from the container.

    Best regards.

  4. I am in the process of purchasing some new kit to experiment with this, changing PCIe DVB-S2 to a Triax SAT>IP is step one.

However whilst the internet says SAT>IP can handle DVB-T2 my google foo is failing hard and I cannot find a single product to buy. Can anyone recommend a SAT>IP like device for DVB-T2?

I support what saarg said. There are still not available devices despite the fact the technology allows it.

If you allow me  I would recommend you to stay away from Sat-IP LNB. Had Triax and Inverto in the past....Sold them both with a great pleasure. It is a dead-born technology.

TBS Moi is an alternative but is still buggy.

What you can try to find is a second hand Netceiver (Reel Multimedia device). It works rock solid in combination with VDR. I am saying "second hand" because the company is not existing anymore. But you can find them on a reasonable price in the German ebay. However they are not cheap but are considered high-end among the Satellite enthusiasts.

    Hope that helped you.

  5. Dear saarg,

I have noted that the oscam docker is using a lot of RAM on my server. Even unraid is killing the process in order to survive.

Here is the part of the log file:

Mar 12 05:37:22 UNRAID kernel: Out of memory: Kill process 28982 (oscam-svn) score 601 or sacrifice child (Errors)

    Mar 12 05:37:22 UNRAID kernel: Killed process 28982 (oscam-svn) total-vm:6937108kB, anon-rss:4935776kB, file-rss:0kB (Errors)

Also I can not determine which version of oscam is built into the docker image?

According to the oscam itself it is

    OSCAM: 1.20-unstable_svn Build: r0 Compiler: x86_64-linux-gnu

Could you please tell is it possible somehow to include mine own compiled version of oscam or to update it with the latest build?

My hardware details are on my signature.

    Thanks again.

  6. Has someone experienced such behavior of Unraid?

Just successfully precleared a brand new WD Red drive. All 3 cycles went perfect. Once I've tried to add it into the array, Unraid politely informed me that the disk need to be cleared and a "Clear" button (instead of "Format") was presented. Does this means that Unraid is not recognizing the preclear signature written by the script?

I am using Unraid 6.0 beta 14b and the latest preclear_disk.sh from Joe L.

  7. Dear PhAzE,

I am using your transmission plugin for unraid 6 happily.

There is only one things which concerns me a lot and this is the info about the torrent files flooding my log file.

Could you please elaborate on how we can decrease (or even stop) the transmission logs?

I couldn't managed to find such a setting in the transmission setting file.

    TIA.

  8.

    Oscam

If you are going to use a USB card reader in Oscam, you will have to use the same method as used for passing through DVB cards in the Tvheadend container.

So that means you have to add the --device tag in front of the repository name in the repository box in the Oscam template as this:

    --device=/dev/ttyUSB0:/dev/ttyUSB0

The name of the device changes depending on the device you use.

It should look like this after editing:

    --device=/dev/ttyUSB0:/dev/ttyUSB0 tobbenb/oscam

    Dear saarg,

Thank you for your dockers. The oscam one is working great.

Could you please give us some examples where more than one card-reader are presented in the system.

How it should look like after editing? My devices are /dev/ttyUSB0, /dev/ttyUSB1 and /dev/ttyUSB2.

    Thank you in advance.

  9.

Do you think it will be possible to include VDR Mcli Plugin in future?

It will be extremely handy for owners of Reel Multimedia Netceiver hardware.

The Netceiver is not occupying precious PCI-E slots but is a part from the user's LAN.

Yes. but i dont have time to next week

    Hi piotrasd,

any chance to see netceiver support soon as you promised earlier?

  10. All,

I upgraded an old data drive (750gb) with 1,5 years old 3 tb drive. The preclear of the 3 tb drive went unusually slow compared to all my other drives precleared in the past but with no errors. The rebuild took 3 days to complete. The next day the same disk gave a red ball status and the smart report says there is 1 pending sector. As the drive is still in warranty there is no problem to be replaced but meanwhile I would like to set my previous config with the old 750 gb hdd in service. I did backup the whole boot folder from the flash. Which files needs to be copied back to the config folder?

    Thanks.

  11. Dear all,

ran out of space and decided to re-purpose one of my WD30EZRX desktop drives and to put it in the Unraid.

The pre-clear process went painfully slow. It took around 47 hrs. for a single cycle. Most of my 3tb drives finished the first pre-clear in around 35 hrs.

The hardware/software is in my signature and all drives are attached to  2xSupermicro SASLP-MV8 controllers (except the parity drive which is attached to the main-board's sata port). The DELL Perc H310 is still free (no disks attached to it).

Please, let me know is there something strange in my pre-clear logs (I dont see any pending sectors or other weird signs) which I am attaching here.

I have never experienced such a slow pre-clear before and I am afraid that if added in the array, later it may be the bottleneck of my parity checks speed which are usually finished in 9 hrs.

    Thanks in advance.
