  1. This was 4 years ago. I stopped using Dune mostly because of this problem. Once I stumbled on Plex I started using MKV files and also keeping the BD folders just in case some day I go back to something that can direct play. I seriously seriously doubt it's your Cisco switch. I tried other switches etc all with no help. The SG200 is not a bad little pro-sumer level switch. How portable is your UnRaid? Is it possible to take it to your dune, or your dune to it, or get a 150' ethernet cord and directly hook them together? Assign both a static address in the same subnet and try using it that way. That will completely eliminate the middle network equipment as a variable. I assume the existing install has the Dune and the Unraid on the same VLAN and no routing is taking place for the conversation? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  2. FYI 802.11ad does not give you a single session speed increase. For instance I have a Cisco 3750x with a channel group containing (4) 1gb members. This gives me a total of 4gb of total bandwidth capacity, but still only a speed of 1gb/s per session. So one PC can transfer a file at 1gb/s and theoretically 3 others could as well. Limiting factor in my case is obviously read / write speeds. Think of LACP as making the water pipe bigger, but not changing the speed of the water flowing through it. Do do however get link redundancy. If you want faster speeds, you need faster NICs and appropriate infrastructure. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  3. Hi guys. I've been a long time UnRaid user. Since like 2012 ish. Only the last few months have I noticed that my server is pretty much unusable during parity checks. I don't remember it being this way before. Now I do have dual parity, and it is an 8TB parity check so it takes quite a while. Over a day. But when I say unusable I mean completely useless during parity check. As in try to copy a large file and you get a few KB/s transfer speed. Cancel the parity check and transfer speed instantly goes up to 112 MB/s. CPU usage during parity check is like 50%. Does this behavior sound normal?
  4. Replaced my r8000 router with a 1u re-purposed server running pfSense. I have a lot of stuff to still do / configure but right now I have lost access to my unRaid GUI and I can't figure out how to fix it. The tower can be pinged by hostname (tower), all my shares are accessible, my wireless controller is still accessible (Unfi docker on unraid), but I cannot access the GUI. I get "this site can't be reached" with an error DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN. I'm sure im doing something stupid. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
  5. Transitioned to the new container and went to the latest 5.10 branch (from the 5.9 branch) before I noticed all the warnings about bugs. Oh well it transitioned seamlessly for me including my old app data folder. Thanks for the work!
  6. I did some quick reading before bed last night and yeah what you say is exactly what I read. Basically I created a multi-lane highway but did not increase the speed for one car LOL Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  7. SOB It was my firewall. I could SWEAR I had tried turning it off in the past to troubleshoot this issue. I turned off "Intrusion Detection Systems" and now I'm back to 112 MB/s. Would have thought I would be closer to my drive speed now that I have a 5gbps link but oh well. Im happy for now
  8. As title suggests I have a LAN transfer speed issue I cannot diagnose and fix. I know it is related to this Windows machine though. It is not UnRaid, and it is not the network. This PC used to saturate my 1 Gbps link during writes to Unraid. Now it hovers around 50-60 MB/s. At this point other than reloading a fresh install of Windows I don't know what to do. My googlefu is at its end. Any suggestions super welcome Other PCs plugged into the same port will saturate the 1 Gbps link writing to UnRaid. 110-112 MB/s solid. (this PC used to also) Been wanting to create a port channel for this PC anyway since my UnRaid server has a 4 Gbps channel-group So now this PC has 5 brand new CAT6 cables creating a 5 Gbps channel-group to my Cisco 3750X switch. Then the UnRaid server has a 4 Gbps channel-group also to the 3750X. The PC is no slouch. Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit. i7 5820k 6 core / 12 thread CPU, 32 GB DDR4. I've reloaded drivers, I've now added an additional NIC. Other than doing a fresh install of Windows I'm at the end of my rope. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions? Thanks, Andrew
  9. Does anybody have a recommendation for a CMA / cable management arm for a Norco 4224 mounted on their sliding rails? I have one from either an old HP or Dell but the connections are proprietary on one end. May try adapting it if I can't find a reasonably priced alternative. Thanks Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  10. What's the purpose of doing this over just using the USB cable? I didn't see this page and gave up using network UPS setup for UnRaid. I just recently installed a Smart-Online 1500 double conversion UPS. I just used the USB and have the network management card purely for remote management and notifications from the UPS. I see load still isn't shown in the above so I'm just wondering what the advantage is over simply using the USB cable. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  11. I did indeed. The flash intimidated me but I understand it a little better now. Thanks again! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  12. Well after more than an hour of up and down the basement stairs I have rebooted my server no joke probably 20 times. I found the problem was caused by the file "dynamix.cfg" which was in the config\plugins\dynamix folder. I have all files and folders back on the drive (except plugins-error, plugins-old-versions, and plugins-removed) and if I place this one file back on the drive my symptom re-appears. Not sure what isn't going to work with this file missing. I know my notifications seem to be wrong. My email address, smtp info, etc is all missing. What in all is contained in that file? Opening it in Notepadd++ showed way stupid looking skewed results. EDIT: I see what's in that file now. I created a new flash backup (this is going to be routine now lol) and looked at the new file in notepad++. I see why my notification settings were all gone now lol. Thanks a bunch for the help guys. Andrew
  13. Great idea. I will start on that now. I used the USB creator tool. There is no danger of damage booting from an unconfigured drive as long as I don't assign drives and start the array right? Thanks, Andrew
  14. Booted into safe mode no pluggins with GUI and no change. Still the same even on the localhost console.
