  1. Hi, yes, considered that, though it's not feeling overly hot. I've got both the sides off also. Don't have a spare one laying around, so it will involve buying a new one - is there anything at all that can be done to confirm? Never had any issues with the PSU prior to this build. Also, even the motherboard-based power switch doesn't work for a reboot. One thing I have just noticed - the chipset fan located over where the IO is seems to not be spinning, even under load. Hadn't previously noticed it, as it's buried within a heatsink. Does that seem like a likely cause? Is there any way to confirm?
  2. TLDR: PSU since 2013, no issues prior to this build. Won't start for 5 minutes post-crash. Have tried swapping the graphics card. Crashes under load after 30 minutes prime95, both on smallest FFTs and blend. Not overheating, watts well under PSU capacity (300w after 5 minutes prime95), 1 pass memtest fine, vm.background.ratio & vm.dirty.ratio changed to 1 & 2% respectively. Hi there, looking for some advice. I’ve been having some persisting issues with frequent crashes. The PSU I’ve had probably since ~2013, and have had no issues with in its lifetime, including running dual ATI 7990s (admittedly with an i5-3330s rather than the below type of build). After a shutdown, it will be impossible to boot the system from either the power button or the button on the motherboard for ~5 minutes, at which point it will boot itself without having to be touched. The PSU should have more than enough wattage - techpowerup and pcpartpicker both suggest power draws of 730w or less (my power monitor arrived whilst typing this - prime95 is peaking at <280w 5 minutes in) and I’ve tried with the RX 580 removed, getting the same issue. I’ve had 2x shutdowns after 10 minutes of gameplay of Battlefield V in a VM. I will fairly consistently also have the server crash after 30 minutes of prime95 blend mode in an ubuntu VM. Smallest FFTs on prime95 delays a crash by about 5 minutes, but it still crashes. (Pointing away from a memory issue), I’ve also done 1 pass on memtest, which succeeded with no errors. It’s not related to CPU temp - the highest temp the cpu die is hitting is ~67-68 degrees. I’ve tried changing the vm.dirty_background ratio and vm.dirty_ratio to 1 and 2% in the Tips and Tweaks plugin. I’ve also tried disabling docker. There’s not a lot I can see in the tail log - it tends to do some trimming about ten minutes before a crash, but beyond that, nothing. The motherboard was from eBay and the seller was a bit shady, so perhaps that? But hard to say. My specs are below, and diagnostics are attached. Motherboard: Asus Prime X399-A CPU: Threadripper 1900X stock clocks, with the Noctua threadripper cooler RAM: 4*8GB HyperX DDR4 Graphics card 1: Nvidia Quadro P2000 Graphics card 2: ATI RX 580 (as above, have tried with this removed) PSU: Coolermaster 1200W Silent Pro Gold HDDs: 4x 8-12TB WD red/white label SSD: 1TB Sabrent NVMe OS: Unraid 6.9.0 RC2 E2A: I've checked power consumption over the course of another run - max load 279W. tower-diagnostics-20210228-1431.zip
  3. Thank you very much. Would I be right in saying that on a cache-yes, everything is moved off, rather than just a case of whether there's enough available space on the origin drive? Is there any way to force a copy/delete rather than a rename, just to save on the need for setting mover to run hourly?
  4. Hi there, struggling with this a bit. I have it setup so appdata is cache-only, Downloads is cache-prefer, Media is cache-no. Downloading is fine. However, on completion, downloads move into the Downloads/sabnzbd/complete folder [fine] and then into the /mnt/cache/Media/[movies/tv]/[showname] folder. This is obviously a problem, as it means that they then need to be manually moved over to the array. As a side-note, sabnzbd reports the free space on the cache only, not the array as a whole. I have it set up so all 3 have 2 mount points each: '/mnt/user' points to '/mnt/user/' and '/config' points to '/config/mnt/user/appdata/[appname]' I've attached my logs below. I initially just had /mnt pointing to /mnt/, but I changed that, hoping it would fix it - no such luck. The root folder in radarr/sonarr is '/mnt/user/Media/movies' and I've checked for individual titles, they're set as that also. But they still end up on the cache. I've attached my logs below. Can anyone help? 5. I had the same thing for my RX580. It's all the slashes in the filename, so it's trying to create a massive folder tree (and can't function). Fix: edit the script, you'll see a config option a few lines down to change the filename. Change it to something (e.g. I went for rx580.rom) and that should fix it rx580.rom
  6. Hi there, wondering if anyone can help. I was following SpaceInvader's GPU dump tutorial, stopped all docker containers, stopped all VMs, I had some issues, so as instructed, bound the graphics card to the GFIO and rebooted. Now, I'm having some issues with booting. The initial unraid screen loads (prompting me to select Unraid OS, safe mode, safe mode without GUI, etc). However, both the normal OS and safe mode (running it without GUI) get stuck at the same screen, 'changed VGA decodes'. I'll type out the safe mode output here: random: udevd: uninitialized urandom read (16 bytes read) Triggering udev events: /sbin/udevadm trigger --action-addudevd[1803]: starting eudev-3.2.5 Setting the system clock rate: /sbin/adjtimex --tick 10000 --frequency 0 Setting system time from the hardware clock (UTC): Sat Jan 16 04:58:19 CST 2021 fsck.fat 4.1 (2017-01-24) random: fast init done random: crng init done random: 7 urandom warning(s) missed due to ratelimiting /dev/disk/by-label/UNRAID: 323 files, 100962/1951754 clusters Mounting non-root local filesystems: /dev/sda1 on /boot type vfat (rw,noatime,nodiratime,flush,dmask=77,fmask=177,shortname=mixed) /boot/bzmodules on /lib/modules type squashfs (ro) /boot/bzfirmware on /lib/firmware type squashfs (ro) hugetlbfs on /hugetlbfs type hugetlbfs (rw) overlayfs: upper fs does not support xattr, falling back to index=off and metacopy=off. overlayfs: upper fs does not support xattr, falling back to index=off and metacopy=off. vfio-pci 0000:41:00.0: vgaarb: changed VGA decodes: olddecodes=io+mem, decodes=io+mem:owns=io+mem That 41:00.0 on the last line matches the ID of my graphics card (a Sapphire RTX 580). I'm running on an AMD threadripper system with X399 chipset (can try and find the CPU type if needed), motherboard is Asus X399-A. Running 6.9.0 rc2. Fast boot is disabled. Prior to this, I was booting into unraid fine. The server responds to pings, and going to the login page works, however logging in produces a 503 temporary unavailable error. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what I can do to try and fix this?
  7. Am I right in saying that to use the precompiled kernel, we simply copy it across to /boot/ ? Or have I got that completely wrong?
