  1. Thank you my GTX 960 had this issue. This addition solved it for me. It worked immediately on start....no restart required. Background-I had previously used a trimmed rom file as in spaceinvader one's videos and all was working until some point in the last few months. I presume it was upgrade to 6.10. Code 43 then. the simple kvm key add above with no other changes or drivers.
  2. Thanks. Sorry to read this as I have no practical option to get this drive out of a rack mounted UNRAID chassis. I assume no other ideas that don't require I remove the drive? At any rate greatly appreciate the fast response!
  3. I have added an old windows SSD to unraid and how to use it in a cache pool along with another similar drive already set to cache. I am unable to mount the drive (it tries briefly). In the log I see: Feb 15 07:10:47 Server unassigned.devices: Mounting partition 'sdd1' at mountpoint '/mnt/disks/S21HNXAG862535Y'... Feb 15 07:10:47 Server unassigned.devices: Mount drive command: /sbin/mount -t 'ntfs' -o rw,noatime,nodiratime,nodev,nosuid,nls=utf8,umask=000 '/dev/sdd1' '/mnt/disks/S21HNXAG862535Y' Feb 15 07:10:47 Server unassigned.devices: Mount of 'sdd1' failed: 'Mount is denied because the NTFS volume is already exclusively opened. The volume may be already mounted, or another software may use it which could be identified for example by the help of the 'fuser' command. ' I saw another thread like this here and the moderator spoke of fixing this SSD before trying to mount but not sure how? The PC it came out of is dismantled. Any ideas?
  4. @jonp Question, can you just tell me the things I need to backup for a windows VM and where they reside? I have no issue bringing down the VM to do this. I see in some of these scripts a backup of xml, some ram files (?), and then of course the Vdisk. How would I manually go about doing a backup and then restoring? I mean no tool just copying files myself. Thanks for anytime you can spare this new but enthused user?
  5. As a new user, there are explanations here on what needs to be backed up and where it resides I had not seen before but I have been researching this for days. On VM backup Spaceinvader's videos are years old but it seems he was grabbing xml, OVFM RAM, and vdisks with scripts. From this thread I gather we can shut off VM and it just be XML and vdisk thats required as a backup or alternatively XML and windows backup iso made from within VM but for the later would we then have to reinstall windows and then restore backup? I ask rhetorically because for us new and novice users this level of basic information is needed. I do hope this very basic outline is something I might find in documentation somewhere either now or in the future. Until then this thread is best thing I have found. Best, C
