  1. Thanks for your help Rob. Attached the most recent completed SMART report and sys log. Plus sys log from before the last reboot. tower-smart-20170314-2028.zip tower-diagnostics-20170314-2210.zip tower-diagnostics-20170305-1658.zip
  2. Had a drive fail. I replaced the failed drive and then a day later had another drive give an error. Wondering if this might be a controller issue but I'm not sure. Changed out the cables and re-enabling the drive. Rebuilding it now. I downloaded the SMART report and started an extended report. Not sure if this is another bad drive could use some help understanding the report. tower-smart-20170314-2013.zip
  3. Was able to run a short SMART test after rebooting the server but it doesn't seem to have much info. Attached it anyway just in case. tower-smart-20170305-1825.zip
  4. Hi Guys, Had a drive fail on me tonight. Tried running the SMART test but it would not run. I've ordered a replacement but it won't be here until Tuesday. My question is should I power off the server until the replacement drive gets here to avoid the unlikely possibility that I have another drive fail? This is the first drive I've had fail on me since setting up this server so I'm not sure what best practice is for this situation. I definitely want to avoid any loss of data. I read through the wiki and couldn't find anything about leaving the server running with a bad drive. Thanks in advance for the help. Added the diag and smart test files just in case. tower-diagnostics-20170305-1658.zip tower-smart-20170305-1749.zip
  5. Matt Cooper FTW! I've been racking my brain trying to fix this problem for days. I owe you one. Thank you sir.
  6. Went through all the steps list here http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=54910.msg524336#msg524336. I was able to get my Win10 laptop reconnected to the server but the VM is still prompting for credentials when trying to browse to the server. Anybody have any other ideas on how I can repair this connection?
  7. Literally went to every link in this google search and tired every fix I found. Nothing worked. :'( https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=windows+10+unable+to+access+network+share
  8. Pretty sure it's an unRAID issue as it has happened twice after an update to the server. I just rebooted my laptop and sure enough I can't access any of the shares from there now either. I'm looking through the other thread now but is there any way that there might be a way to fix this from the unRAID side?
  9. I am currently unable to browse or access the network shares on my server. This is the second time this has happened. Last time it happened back in September after I ran the 6.2 update but I wasn't sure if that caused it but now I'm certain that it was after I ran the latest update to unRAID. Previous thread with this issue: https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=52108.msg501750#msg501750 So I've tried removing all the plugins and rebooting the server and am still unable to connect to any shares from my Windows 10 VM running on my server. I can access the shares from my Windows 10 laptop for now. I've tried all the obvious stuff, using a different user, resetting passwords, removing all credentials and running the permissions tool. Nothing is working. Somebody please help me figure this out. Thanks in advance. Added the diag file and the results from the fix common problems deep scan below. tower-diagnostics-20170204-1652.zip fix_common_problems_scan.txt
  10. Does anybody know if this will run on AMD hardware or is Intel hardware required?
  11. Was able to solve this issue by removing unmenu and it's packages (http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=11764.0), removing all plugins and rebooting the server. After the reboot I was able to access all shares without an issue. I haven't started adding plugins back one by one to see which one was causing the issue yet.
  12. So I guess my only course of action left is to go with the LimeTech support service. I've pretty much exhausted all my efforts to troubleshoot this issue and nothing has resolved it. Anybody know if the LT support option is worth it? I'm pretty much out of options so I don't know what else to do hopefully they can fix it.
  13. Was able to get an Ubuntu VM to connect to the server using the root user and password but it rejects all the other unRAID user name passwords I try to authenticate with. Still unable to access the server from a Windows machine.
  14. Can somebody please help me out here. This has been going on for 3 days now. I've been reading on the forums and troubleshooting on my own and I'm not able to figure this out. I've tried all the basic and obvious stuff. Could really use some assistance on this problem.
  15. All shares are currently set to public. Tried "user" no password same outcome with both name and IP. Even tired from command line net use.
  16. After doing some more research I believe this is an issue between the latest Windows 10 update and the unRAID 6.2 update. Last night the one laptop I had that would still allow me to connect to the shares over the network installed the latest updates for Win10 and after the install and reboot I'm having the same issue connecting to the unRAID shares as my unRAID Win10 vm. So I'm not sure how to proceed from here. I guess I could just uninstall the Win10 updates and see if that fixes this issue or maybe there is a way to roll back the unRAID 6.2 update. Can somebody help me out here? How should I go about resolving this issue? At this time I have no way to access the shares on my server.
  17. The VM is on the br0 bridge and is able to communicate on the network. I've also tried removing the credentials and rebooting both machines that will not connect to the shares. I notice that in the dashboard that the network details shows eth0 1000 Mb/s, full duplex, mtu 1500 which I'm pretty certain that it's a 10/100 port which is the reason I got the separate network card in the first place. Not sure if this is relevant or not. I did order another NIC to replace the bad one which should be here tomorrow but I feel like that probably won't fix this issue as everything else seems to be working fine and I was able to access shares from one laptop on the network. I saw another topic on the forum where a user had issues with the NIC after the upgarde to 6.2 (https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=52079.0) doubt it's related since is server hardware vs desktop hardware but I thought I'd point it out either way. Anything else I can try while I wait for the replacement NIC?
  18. @dlandon thank you for replying. I'm not sure what settings need to be changed. The server is currently online on the network ie. I can ping it and get to the gui. The network settings page shows two available ethernet ports one of which is configured and one of which is not. I changed no settings after the NIC switch, I just assumed that unRAID picked up the switch and propagated the settings on the new NIC after the reboot. Should I disable the current ethernet port in unRAID (eth0) and enable eth1 and configure it? Also I forgot to mention that I tested a third machine last night and was able to access the shares from it after putting in my unRAID user credentials but still unable to access the shares from my Win10 VM on unRAID or the other machine I tested yesterday.
  19. Still having problems connecting to the shares. Anybody out there willing to help me out here? Thanks.

  21. Had some network issues yesterday that resulted in a bad network card. I switched over to the on-board network port which resolved the networking issue. In the process of troubleshooting some permissions issues after the network card problem I installed and ran the Fix Common Problems tool. It suggested that there were some plugins that should be uninstalled one of which was the VM Manager plugin. I uninstalled that plugin and rebooted the server. After the reboot the VMs did not restart. The VM Manager in settings shows the Enable VM option is set to "Yes" but the Status shows "Stopped". I tried disabling and re-enabling and rebooting the server but non of that worked. Not sure what the problem is here other than removing the plugin which not sure why it's required if there is a VM manager built into unRAID now. Also at some point yesterday I ran the update to v6.2 but the VMs were working fine after the update. Any help or direction on troubleshooting this problem would be greatly appreciated. 22. Had some network issues yesterday that resulted in a bad network card. I switched over to the on-board network port and everything seems to be working fine except I cannot access any of my shares. Every time I try to open or browse to a share it asks for credentials but does not accept any username or password I give it. I've tried browsing by name and IP and neither works, tried resetting passwords, tried different machines, ran the new permissions tools, rebooted and nothing seems to allow me to access the shares. I also made sure that the unRAID server is on the same workgroup as the PCs, is set to the SMB master and the user credentials match the server. I did run the update to 6.2 at some point yesterday so I'm not sure if that might have caused the issue but I doubt it. I've had this issue in the past and usually running the new permissions tool and a reboot will fix it but this time seems not so much. I did also install and run the Fix Common Problems tool but it found no permissions issues. Any help or direction on troubleshooting this problem would be greatly appreciated. 24. Checked the config path and there were no spaces. Added screenshot of the advanced config. App has been running for over 2 hours now and still not able to access the server from the webui.
