  1. Update. I ended up swapping many ethernet cables / switch / etc locally. I was able to get my unraid GUI to boot and was testing on terminal and could not get a ping from google.com but was able to from 8.8.8.8 - so was driven by a DNS error and probably some subcomponent of hardware upstream and DNS. Thanks!
  2. I attempted a USB network solution via an adapter but still would not connect. Was trying to better understand if I bought a nic if anything would change. Attempted to see the ifconfig and shows the Ethernet on eth0 with micro activity at the byte level… probably nothing going on. Tried a simple on command but no luck so far. Seeing a lot of forums of flavors of Linux but not sure what changed - guess will dig in bios?
  3. You are definitely right on that gateway.. reset to 10.0.0.1 and cut off static at 10.0.0.131. Now need to dig deeper into that link/carrier issue
  4. Running Unraid 6.9.2 Physically relocated houses and have finally had time to focus on my unraid build. Boots up fine / using GUI with an attached screen I was able to run full parity and passed with 0 corrections. I have removed the /config/network.cfg file (only booted to set static IPV4). Disabled VMs. Disabled Docker for the time being. I have tested the cable / changed it out with other machines. It shows on my local network but am unable to connect. It is not showing very little network activity. Docker is showing out of date and not able to check for updates / build itself is showing no new unraid builds to upgrade to. Not sure what is going on. Any ideas? Really Appreciate the help!! fractal-diagnostics-20220726-2153.zip
  5. @jemmles Any luck? I havent had a chance to work on it since... Right now my drive is just sitting as "unrecognizable (the one partitioned for windows)
  6. @trurl Sorry to bother you. Have you seen anything like this? I spoke too soon on my instance. Since I isolated my disk 6 - after a restart of my server.. the disk just shows as an unmountable disk and does not respond anymore to the VM activation.
  7. I hope that you are well. I know that this was posted essentially a year ago but I have been dealing with similar issues. I utilized a more recent spaceinvaderone video to look at passing through an entire drive that is an ssd... Endless loop is where I have been for a considerable amount of time. I ended up removing the primary vdrive reference which was auto filled and switched it to manual and mapped my entire drive name like: /dev/disk/by-id/ata-Samsung_SSD_860_EVO (pic attached/embedded / not sure how it will show up) . With this modification - I was able to boot directly from one of the failed install loops/ could restart and install but it stuck. I am a whopping 2 hours into this new config so dont know if it will stick but was able to properly setup windows 10 user accounts and so forth. Best of luck!
  8. I moved it over but when I fired them up the dockers were empty and the VMs were not working. I started to rebuild the docker and settings and such are sticking - which is awesome. I am still experiencing some connectivity issues where the unraid management portal disappears and is unreachable for a few minutes at a time.
  9. I will definitely make a note of more research / posting if needed before... something like this again.. In terms of working with files directly - basic linux moving /copying commands - yes and permissions, but not sure much beyond that. Is this process going forward similar to a git merge error where it needs to be parsed out and reviewed? Appreciate the thorough explanation of the main directory components
  10. In terms of the apps - they have all been messed up since and nothing is kosher. Is this something that it makes sense to just overwrite select areas of the existing cache with the prior one or what would the best plan of attack be?

  13. If I were able to hook up the 120SSD externally - would it be worth trying to migrate data even as it is degrading?
  14. Executed. Appreciate the help working through this. Post command: root@Fractal:~# du -h -d 1 /mnt/disk2/appdata du: cannot access '/mnt/disk2/appdata': No such file or directory
