  1. I think my nic might just be broken then. The cable and switch are both confirmed working
  2. Here you go. Had to connect the onboard ethernet to grab it tower-diagnostics-20220608-1904.zip
  3. I just installed a new 10gb sfp plus network card. This one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294912033704 and it just isn't doing anything. I bonded the connections from the onboard ethernet and the 2 ports on the card but unless I connect the onboard ethernet I just get nothing. The network switch has a solid light on it and the card has no lights
  4. I heard that vertio was better for performance and i'm trying to change my VM from a sata bus to vertio but every time i try, it just ends up in windows startup recovery mode
  5. Currently all of my dockers are setup to use /mnt/user/whatever, should i change those over to using /mnt/cache instead? And if so, how much of a difference does this make to performance?
  6. After running for about 150 days, 2 of my segate 4tb drives just spit out a few errors. here's the logs for it https://pastebin.com/5SdncR9v am i safe to just restart my array and do a parity check or should i do something else first?
  7. I thought that you got a format option if there wasn't a file system. i'm trying to mount the drive so i can use it to test if something is a disk speed issue or not with another application
  8. I'm trying to mount my nvme drive but the mount button is just greyed out. what am i doing wrong?
  9. so I just tried changing back steam cmd and deleting satisfactory and it went back to the old behaviour. I've now also deleted the steam cmd folder and now it's working again. So it was probably an issue with steam cmd
  10. ok, i seem to have found a fix. I changed the steamcmd folder mapping to steamcmd2 so it wasn't sharing steam cmd with your other containers and that seems to have fixed the issue
  11. ok, just tried what you suggested and got the same output as before. Also yes I do have pihole installed but it's never caused an issue with your containers for me before
  12. @ich777 Here's the settings i'm using, i think i left them all on default And here's my settings for appdata
  13. I just installed the container from the community apps page (left all settings as default) and all i get is this same console output looped ---Checking if UID: 99 matches user--- usermod: no changes ---Checking if GID: 100 matches user--- usermod: no changes ---Setting umask to 0000--- ---Checking for optional scripts--- ---No optional script found, continuing--- ---Starting...--- ---Update SteamCMD--- ---Update Server--- ---Prepare Server--- ---Server ready--- ---Start Server--- /opt/scripts/start-server.sh: line 76: cd: /serverdata/serverfiles/Engine/Binaries/Linux: No such file or directory /opt/scripts/start-server.sh: line 77: ./UE4Server-Linux-Shipping: No such file or directory
  14. Can someone explain what any of this means? So i have 4 x 16gb sticks of ram in the system so i assume that's why it says 64GiB in the top left but in the bottom left it says that only 31.4gb is usable. Does this mean that unraid is only actually using half of the available ram or am i not understanding something?
  15. So, this morning i was organising some files and suddenly unraid started throwing disk errors on every one of my array disks at the same time, the system then disabled one of the 3 disks and continued running. After confirming that the disk was still good, i rebuilt it and have started the array but now all of my docker containers won't start, my vms give me errors about a read only file system and if i try and copy files to the server I just get a catastrophic error message from windows explorer. I can read all of my files perfectly fine but i can't write anything. Logs are attached tower-syslog-20210313-1747.zip
  16. Ok, so i can join my ark server through the in game server browser menu and it works fine but when using the steam server browser to connect i get the error. is there a known fix for this or am i just stuck with it this way? Edit: Fixed it. "netsh winsock reset" made it start working via the steam menu
  17. Ok, so i've got my ark server responding on port 27016 but every time i try and connect i still get this error
  18. this what i've just set the settings as but now steam can't even query the server info to find it. my unraid server is running on 192.168.1.208 and i'm querying 192.168.1.208:27016 on my pc but i'm not getting anything in the steam server browser Edit: So apparantly if I just query the IP 192.168.1.208 in the steam server browser then the server shows up but i still get the same error when joining the server about being unable to query for an invite
  19. i've already tried that too. the container get's deleted every time i make a change by unraid anyway and port forwarding shouldn't matter because currently i'm just trying to get it to work on my local network
  20. Hi, i'm trying to get the ark survival evolved server to work but all i can get is "unable to query server info for invite", the server shows up in steam but whenever i connect i just get the previous message. i'm using all default settings except the steam port is 27016 instead of 27015 and the RCON port is 27021. i did also try with the steam port as 27015 as a testing step but that didn't seem to fix it
  21. ah ok. I'd already given up and opped myself that way anyway but thanks. i was more just looking for if there was a way to get into the console incase I needed it in the future. I guess i'll just have to use RCON. Thanks
  22. How do I access the console of a running server? for example I have a gmod server running but I don't know how to get into the console to make myself admin
  23. Ok, i'm seeing where i went wrong here. All of my shares are set to minimum free space 0. I assumed that it meant that unraid would just keep filling the drive until there wasn't enough space for whatever the next file it tried to write was. i've now set it to 5GB for my games server share so if i'm understanding correctly it will now start putting new files onto the array if the cache is already below 5GB but say i was to try and put a 10GB file on when there was 7GB left then that would still give me the out of space error.
  24. Well i want files to be written to the cache and then moved to the array. so from what the use cache descriptions say i have it on the right mode for the behaviour i'm expecting
  25. Also sorry if this is an obvious question but i'm looking at https://carfax.org.uk/btrfs-usage/ should i just leave it on the default settings and change the number of drives and the ammount of storage on them or do i need to set the raid options on the right and the replication details?
