  1. I understand. There is a logic to the way cache drives are utilized. Okay if I was starting over with unraid as a beginner what guides or video would be good to develop a cache foundation to build on. (I feel maybe I added configuration steps from many sources) Looking at my drive/cache configuration how does it look ? Okay or something I need to look at? Anything thing pop out as maybe a bottleneck? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  2. I replaced power cables and everything seems to be okay. I had to reboot a few times to bring everything back to normal. I am wondering if I am having some issues with my power supply. On another note I notice that my cache utilization is real low. From my diagnosis can one tell if my cache drives are configured correctly? When I setup my unraid I took steps from 2-3 YouTube videos that I thought were good steps. Now I feel I should have started out small and incorporate steps one at a time. What would be the best way to re-engineer my unraid to have a basic unraid server to add to slowly to make sure things are working correct? thecave-diagnostics-20230331-2342.zip
  3. Oh thank you very much. There was a few steps missing in the information I had at first. This wiki information covered the process a lot better.
  4. Okay. I power down and used another power connection to Disk #4. What steps next?
  5. Will I be able to use my unraid while the disk is being rebuild? I notice it said that the old disk was being emulated .
  6. I started the array after following steps outlined to replace a disk. The instructions said there should be a box in the Array Operation area. Did not see a box. It look like it rebuilding the disk. ( I hope) Looks like it going to take a long time. Also, now the disk is being written to and then makes a noise. The disk pass pre clear so I do not know why it making a noise.
  7. Hard Drive Red X - Followed Procedure to Assign Drive - No Box To Check to rebuild drive. Please advise.
  8. Had to shutdown unraid server for a few days and now Plex App is stating Plexserver is currently unavailable. Also, I noticed eth0 connected and eth1 not connected. Eth0 & Eth1 were configured before shutdown. I did a few app updates but don not if it caused this issue. I am checking network conductivity right now.
  9. I have not been successful in finding any resolution for my Unraid cpu_iowait issues. There are others with this issue that have not found any resolution. Please share any good successful comments with me on this issue.
  10. I been having some performance issues with my existing Unraid. What steps to take to rollback to defining drives, shares and drive pools? I just can not skillfully fix this issue and I think it time redefine my setup. I have had helpful hints but I am not that skillful with Unraid yet. So any help to restart from the configuration stage would help. I watched too many videos and took a little from all and created a Unraid system that is handicapped by adding to many things at once.
  11. Anyone have any current experience with flashing a HP H221? I see some information out there and mostly inconclusive to complete the task of flashing successfully. I hate to start the process and get stuck without one piece of a puzzle missing to flashing the host adapter. If would be like that jigsaw puzzle that has a few pieces missing and it just stays on the top shelf of the closet.
  12. Can anyone share with me a current guide to successfully flash a HP H221 host adapter to LSI - 9207 configuration. I have located some information that was dated or missing some key steps. The HP H221 has a dual configuration past meaning that the old HP H221 has hardware for 9205 and the newer HP H221 has hardware for 9207. I just purchased a new HP H221 host adapter from Amazon. This HP H221 looks to have the latest configuration LSI 9207-8e and not LSI 9205-8e configuration. I would like to flash it to IT mode LSI 9207-8e configuration. I have flashed successfully a Dell host adapters a few years ago using a usb flash drive. I followed a guide for that adapter and that work for flashing to IT mode for that adapter. I would greatly appreciate any help to flash my H221 adapter.
  13. I have created inefficient and duplicated paths on user shares locations. My appdata share exists on two of the cache pools and on the array. One of a few error items I have to correct. Help!! What are some of the actions I can take to correct these errors? Any procedure to follow to delete appdata share and recreating new appdata? Just need some help with the logic of correcting shares and redefining them etc. . At this point if there is a easy way to start over to the step; share defining process on unraid.
  14. Any suggestions how I can start to make changes to my unraid shares? I thinking to create basic share structure and build on the basic structure. I wish I was an expert with unraid to know what moves to make next. Just like learning chess for the first time. After sometime playing chess one knows what moves to make. I am a little frustrated that all I put in my unraid server so far is not working well. Hopefully one day I get my unraid server where I would like .......
  15. Here is what my shares look like. I have added apps that look cool but have not totally implemented. So I am open to remove any apps that may look like an issue. Help with removing conflicts and setting up a move efficient structure were be so appreciated. To correct: "multiple concurrent I/O's happening and the system having to wait to complete.". "appdata share exists on two of the cache pools and on the array" Efficient "system share" .
  16. I see how, not by design I have set up bandwidth bottlenecks. I as a novice unraid user I took a little from various guides and videos to create my dream unraid server. I overlap or doubled share locations and set a share in an inefficient location. Now I have conflicting I/O's ; appdata on two shares and cache pools on the array. I would like to correct these issues and have a standard setup for I/O's. Then I could learn the functions of shares and modify in the future if needed. What steps can I take to perform surgery on the unraid server's setup to make the setup more efficient?
