Hi, pretty old tutorial I know - but still works. Thanks for that! The only problem I have - after flashing the controller only 1, the top, port works. I have flashed two controllers (A21), both the same. I can switch the cables, allways only the top port is recognizing disks. Unforunally I did not test both boards in IR Mode before. I bought the same controller already flashed, here both ports are working fine. Someone may have the same issue and a solution for that? Thank you

Videos war der entscheidende Tipp - die Syntax des Befehls hat sich geändert: qemu-img resize -f raw --shrink vdisk4.img 2500G In der Unraid-Gui werden btw. offenbar bei den Volume-Größen im TB-Bereich keine Bruchteile angezeigt, daher hatte ggf. schon mein erster Versuch funktioniert. @Ford Prefect Danke für die schnelle Antwort - ich hatte gehofft es gibt einen Weg ohne die Konvertierung. @mgutt Bitte nicht falsch verstehen - Danke für die "Tipps", obwohl ich ja eine konkrete Frage hatte. A) Ja - wer hat gesagt, dass ich kein Backup habe. b) Ich finde es allerdings unschön hier gleich ein Urteil zu fällen, ohne die Hintergründe zu kennen. "Wenn man so große Images macht, macht man ganz sicher was falsch" Es handelt sich ja um eine VM, welche selbst das Backupsystem darstellt (Proxmox-Backup) und auf einen aus Sicht der VM Block-Datenträger zugreifen muss und das ganze durch das Unraid-Array abgesichert. Funktioniert hervorragend, nur die Vergrößerung lief halt schief.

Hallo zusammen, ich wollte für eine VM die Disk-Size von 2T auf 2500G vergrößern (via Gui). Das Diskformat ist .img (raw) Das funktionierte so nicht, also habe ich 2.5T als neue Größe versucht und heraus kam 25T. Doof - das ist natürlich nicht was ich wollte. Ich habe die VM noch nicht wieder gestartet, das Gast-OS hat also noch nichts in die neue Größe geschrieben. Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen, wie ich wieder auf die ursprüngliche Größe bzw. auf die Wunschgröße von 2500G komme, ohne die Disk parallel neu zu schreiben? Ich habe schon diverse qemu-img Befehle probiert, keiner konnte ausgeführt werden. Also zum Beispiel qemu-img resize vdisk4.img 2500G Die Anleitung von Spaceinvader funktioniert so offenbar auch nicht, oder nur für qemu2 Images. Danke und viele Grüße Mario

Hi, I am new in the forum, so please be patient with me. unraid 6.9.2 I am running a Linux VM (proxmox backup server) with two disks, one for the linux os (vdisk1) and one for the data (vdisk2). Originaly both disks (files) where on the unraid pool, in the default "domains" share with Cache option "Prefer". Everything runs fine. Than i stoppt the vm, moved the vdisk2 to an other share, edited the vm configuration with the new path and started. I am expecting the linux did not recognize, but it did. Now the promox backup linux vm "sees" a data-disk with the right size, but no informations (no uuid). It seems, it cant access it. Than i removed the disk completely from the vm configuration and added it again (browsed to the existing disk on the new share), but the same problem. I now i had to change the linked uuid in the proxmox/systemctl mount, but i cant access the data-disk insight the vm at all. Did anybody know something like this and can help me? Thanks Mario
