  1. So should it be cache "Yes"
  2. Yes, I meant I'll switch the "Media" share caching to No until I finish the big downloads, then switch it back to Prefer later.
  3. Doh! Thanks - I'll take the cache off while I'm doing these big downloads and reinstate it when things calm down. Wallis
  4. I have mover set for once a day operation - the Scheduler sets it at 1:00 AM. However, I'm currently pulling in a lot of downloads and my SSD cache disk is filling up quickly, so I thought I'd invoke an unscheduled Move to clear some space in the cache. When I press the Move button on the Main page, nothing happens. I recall the Array Start button used to be disabled with a warning that Mover was running - but that isn't happening now and the Mover is not running. Can anybody offer any suggestions of where to look to fix this. Thanks Wallis
  5. Thanks - but how would I delete it? I can find it in Krusader - it's in /Disks - and it is empty, but Crusader wont delete it? I'm not sure my terminal skills are up to deleting it. Is there another way?
  6. I've been struggling to sort out a mistake I made where I added a second drive to a pool, rather than creating a second pool. (I posted on here about it) The result was my pool went into RAID - I followed the very helpful comments on here and was able to sort things out and now have 2 separate pools with one name in each. However, in the process, I may have done something else wrong as I've got the 'Invalid folder cache_nvme contained within /mnt" warning from the Fix Common Problems plugin. It says that it may, or may not, cause problems for Unraid. Is there an easy way of getting rid of this folder, or should I just ignore the error message? Thanks Wallis
  7. Thanks Jorge - it says it was because of an unclean shutdown. so I'll let it finish. Don't know why it happened - it seemed to be overnight so I was in bed! Wallis
  8. Thanks for the suggestion - I don't know what is going on but Unraid has started a Parity check for some reason. I'm stuck waiting for that to finish before I can get back in and sort out the pool drive situation. Wallis
  9. I was running a 1tb Nvme drive as a cache pool. It handled thenapp data, isos, system etc as well as downloads. It got a lot of use and ran quite hot, so I thought I’d get a second 500gb Nvme to handle the downloads share and hope the temperatures dropped. Unfortunately, instead of adding the 500 gb Nvme as a separate pool, I accidentally added it as a second drive to the existing pool, where it was formatted as btrfs and went into raid configuration with the 1 tb drive. So I have 1 pool with 2 drives instead of what I wanted which was 2 pools with one drive each. Is there a way I can correct this and take both Nvmes out of raid? At present, both have exactly the same content, obviously, which is only 9 gig or so on each drive, with nothing in the downloads share, so this would be a good time to correct my mistake, if somebody can help me by telling me how to do it. thanks Wallis
  10. I've just had a Hard Drive fail in my array. There's enough space available on the array for the data to go elsewhere, so I know I won't lose any data, but the array will then be getting full and I'll need a replacement. When I set up the system, I had a 1TB NVME drive and a 1TD SSD, so I set them both up as Pool Drives. The NVME does all the work, and the SSD is hardly used. So I'm wondering if I could take the SSD out of the pool and then use it as a Data drive? Can anybody suggest how I'd do that? Thanks for your help Wallis PS, I checked in FAQ but the "How do I remove a cache pool disk?" question leads to a blank page for Unraid V. 6
  11. I run a media server with a 5 HDD array and 2 SSD cache pool and also have a USB 3.0 5-drive docking station with 2 more HDDs in it. I’d like to rationalise my array layout and move disks that are rarely used into the docking station and commonly used disks into the server where they can get the benefit of SATA speeds. That would require me to switch a disk out of the server and into the docking station, and put the one from the docking station into the server. Can I do this without triggering an array rebuild? I thought I could do a “New Config” with “Retain All” and then restart the array with “Parity Valid”. Can anybody please advise if this would work? Thanks Wallis
  12. I've just added a new tunnel and peer to Wireguard, and it is telling me I need a Peer Update. I can't work out how to do that - can anybody help? Thanks Wallis
  13. Thanks, Squid. I thought as much, but just wanted to check. By the way, what an amazing support network - it took all of 1 minute to answer the question! Superb service, and an amazing programme!
  14. Unraid recently reported my disk 6, of a 7 disk array, was failing, so I followed Space invaders' very helpful video and copied off the data using Unbalance and then used the script to write zeros on the drive to preserve parity. then powered down and removed the failing drive, which was by then listed as Unassigned. My question is - is it OK to have disk numbering go from Drive 5 to Drive 7, or should I move drive 7 up into the drive 6 location? Thanks Wallis
  15. I checked with the Security Co - it turns out this is a residual device installed by the previous company who ran the security system off copper and used the modem as a backup. I switched companies a year ago ass the new system is fiber which uses a cellular backup. So the modem is surplus and not in use - I asked why they left it there when they put the new system in and they said they were not allowed to touch another company's equipment, so just left it. So its now disconnected and on its way to their local store for return, and I'm down to 1 network. Thanks again for your help - I'm back up and running "on all cylinders" Wallis
  16. You're not going to believe this - 10.0.4.1 is the modem for the home security system! When I powered down to install the extra RAM, it was the first time the computer had been shut off for 2 years - shows how reliable UnRaid is!. On restart, it seems to have locked onto the wrong network. So this morning, I temporarily shut off the HomeSec Modem and when I rebooted the UnRaid server, it linked straight in to 192.168.2.19. So we're back online thanks to your, and Jonathan's great help. Is there a way I can "lock in" the correct start IP - would that be a Static IP? - in UnRaid. That would avoid this question in the future. Thanks again Wallis
  17. The MBP is on 192.168.2.10 and the Router is 192.168.2.1
  18. Jonathon - Thanks so much - your help has been fantastic. I've enclosed the diagnostics log file - I had no idea it was on the USB boot drive! I hope this will help you sort out what is wrong - I love UnRaid but have a very superficial knowledge of Linux - I'm 76 so I never bothered to read the manual - hell, I don't even buy green bananas these days! Wallis wd-diagnostics-20220729-1821.zip
  19. To get to Tools:Diagnostics, I think I'd have to access the Main screen and then select Tools from there. So I've managed to SSH into the Server and run the Diagnostics using the following command: root@wd:~# diagnostics Starting diagnostics collection... done. ZIP file '/boot/logs/wd-diagnostics-20220729-1821.zip So we have a diagnostics zip file but my next problem is - how do I get to the directory to get the zip file? I'm not used to Linux so I don't really know the terminal commands Wallis
  20. To get to Tools:Diagnostics, I think I'd have to access the Main screen and then select Tools from there. But I can't access the main screen - it simply says it can't connect to 192.168.2.19 - although it does access that IP if I go to Radarr, Sonarr, SAb, Deluge etc - i.e. it opens Radarr with http://192.168.2.19:7878 Wallis
  21. Sorry, I’m a newcomer to all this. Where can I find the diagnostics and how do I run them?
  22. I added extra RAM this morning so I shut down Unraid, powered off, reset RAM speeds in the MB Boot record and powered up and restarted Unraid. Now I find that I cannot connect to the server for certain programmes . My server is on 192.168.2.19 - and I can't get to the Main, Dashboard or Plex pages. However, the strange behaviour is that I CAN connect to Unmanic, SAB, Radarr, Sonar using the same server credentials. So 192.168.2.19/Main doesn't work, whereas http://192.168.2.19:8080 (SAB) does. Can anybody throw any light on what is happening? Thanks Wallis
  23. I'm converting around 6K files. It seems I'm getting the MP4's convertedok, but I'm getting a lot of errors with M4V and MOV files. Can anybody recommend a plugin to sort this out, or is there a way around it? Thanks
  24. Thanks, Ive got it back and updated DNS as you suggested. Fogey
  25. Until this morning, I had Unraid set up beautifully - instant access, TDARR running, a PLEX server going - I even had Wireguard set up. I was using 192.168.0.42 on that network. And then earlier today, I changed my ISP to get 1GB Fibre - I had a very low upload rate and I was getting too many people on Plex which meant I was feeding them increasingly low res video. That move to a new ISP, of course, has changed all the local IP's I used, so I made a note of the new IP (192.168.2.19) and tried to go to the server with that - and I can't get through to the Server at all. I know once I get on, I'll have tho change the server IP in all the dockers, but first I have to sign in! Did I do something wrong? - I'm not even reaching the Unraid Sign in screen - I'm sure its something simple, but I'm too dumb to know what. Can anybody offer a suggestion? Thanks Fogey
