[Support] ich777 - Gameserver Dockers
Hi, i was here a couple weeks back after getting my Valheim server up and running for the first time with your docker.. then on a reboot, the whole install was nuked and started fresh somehow. Once i had it up and running again.. it was great for 11 days, until today, when I noticed save file corruption and high memory usage, so I shut down the docker, restarted my NAS and the docker. I know your product has nothing to do with the potential memory leak and save files.. but upon restarting the Docker my entire valheim install was again wiped. I was hoping you could have a quick look through the attached Docker log and see if you recognize a reason why it might have reinstalled everything and wiped me again. That would help me figure out where to start my newbie troubleshooting thanks.. valheim log.txt

Ahhhh, and heres where my 'pretty much a newb to Unraid and Linux' has bit me in the ass, haha. My cache drive failed/unmounted itself last week, before I installed the docker and Valheim server, and I havent got around to fixing it.. and now that I've found some logs in the Steam folder, it seems like maybe this is what happened. From content.log [2023-12-20 17:13:25] Client version: 1702079268 [2023-12-20 17:13:25] Load failed: /serverdata/serverfiles/Steam/steamapps/libraryfolders.vdf. I do see a directory structure with files in it when I browse to that location, but I didnt recognize that the ../cache/appdata/.. was just that .. a temporary cache. derp. Thank you very much for your help.. I'm trying to learn to use Linux/Unraid but theres too much I dont know, haha.

So I got my Valheim server running yesterday with this docker.. I moved my local world into it and put a few hours in. My buddies logged into my 'new to them' world and put a few hours building and exploring and mucking about. I had to shutdown the whole NAS this morning due to some electrical work at my house and I just restarted it. When Valheim docker ran on restart it, as expected, did an update. It seems to have wiped the entire previous install, including my Backups folder and the entire worlds_local folder. I have backups enabled in the docker and its instructed to keep 24 revisions, but the ../Valheim/Backups folder is empty. Is this somehow something I've done or an unfortunate docker error and I should be setting up a backup script?

Thanks for the reply.. I'll add one thing that I figured out.. If you dont have a ../worlds_local/ folder, its being saved in the Steam Cloud instead. Run Valheim, and after clicking Start Game, click "Manage Saves" .. then choose the World tab and "Move to Local" button. Now, fingers crossed, Im going to go see how this works

Hi, I'm a bit inexperienced with Unraid and completely new to Valheim and the docker server. I started playing Valheim on Win11/Steam on a local game a few weeks ago and have now started a dedicated server on my Unraid box using Ich777s docker. How can I go about copying my world from my local windows box to my dedicated server? Thanks a ton for making this docker and doing all this support

Docker unresponsive, Unraid at 100% cpu, eventual system crash.
I'm sorry I can't be any help as to a fix.. but I wanted to at least say I've just run into exactly the same thing on 6.9.2. 3 of 4 CPU's were maxed, all my dockers had disappeared and (i think) clicking on the Dockers tab would bring up a blank dockers list but clicking on Apps tab would make the righthand 3-4 tab headings simply disappear from the top menu. Sending shutdown and reboot commands through the GUI would be reflected in an SSH window I had open at the same time "The System is going down..." messages.. but nothing would happen. I had to hard-reset and was it automatically started a parity-check at reboot.

Mover, exit code 1?
I made sure to turn on view hidden and view all files.. and there are only 3 things in /var/run/ two dirs: lock and screen and a 0 byte file, utmp.

Mover, exit code 1?
Hi.. newb Unraider here.. Unraid Plus 6.9.2. Ive had my server up and running for about 6 months now and its basically been fire-and-forget. Was bored for a bit last night so logged in to poke around and noticed my cache drive seemed to be storing a bunch of files on it.. I was under the impression (mainly by its name) that Mover would .. you know, move, them off the drive at the default rate of once a day. Did some googling, didnt clear anything up. Looked at syslog and noticed that Mover appears? to be running (to my inexperienced self) once a day at 3:40am.. but its exiting with a code and I havent been able to find any descriptions of the codes.. exit status 1 from user root /usr/local/sbin/mover &> /dev/null That line is repeated nightly through the last 1.5 months of syslog entries (when the server last rebooted). Do I have an issue or is this operating as expected? thanks for the help.
