  1. Correct, but when there are such applications as Plex, Sickbeard, Sabnzbd that live entirely on the SSD drive and do not touch shfs through the FUSE abstraction layer there is some real speed increases that are possible.
  2. I do a lot of uncompressing and moving around large video files. Averaging around to 3-4GB per. In addition to running Plex. My cache drive is quite busy most of the time.
  3. Would it be worth the $100? Would I see any real performance increase over my existing 1TB 5400 RPM drive? Or should I spend the extra $100 for a 250GB pure SSD? http://www.seagate.com/internal-hard-drives/laptop-hard-drives/laptop-solid-state-hybrid-drive/?sku=ST1000LM014 Thank you, needo
  4. Will a SAS9220-8i card work in a PCI-E 2.0 x4 (x8 slot) slot?
  5. Is it possible to tell the link speed on a M1015? I am curious if my drives are at 6gb/s or 3gb/s. Thank you.
  6. On sale for $115 at both Amazon and Newegg. Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Barracuda-3-5-Inch-Internal-ST3000DM001/dp/B005T3GRLY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372193808&sr=8-1&keywords=ST3000DM001 Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148844&Tpk=ST3000DM001&IsVirtualParent=1 EDIT: Well that was the shortest sale ever...
  7. I emailed Jeff (the author of the patch) directly and he sent me to this URL: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.file-systems.reiserfs.general/24261 Thank you.
  8. I am sorry if I missed this question. I attempted to go through all 174 pages of this thread. I am looking at moving from unmenu to SimpleFeatures. One feature I use in unMenu is to install a couple Slackware packages. Does SimpleFeatures have this feature as well? Thank you.
  9. Or do what I do... every release I run I decompress compile my own kernel based off of unRAID's configuration with an option I need (Advanced Routing) and I package it back up again. It is not that difficult. However, I expect 0 support from Lime Technology running my own custom kernel.
  10. TigerDirect/CompUSA has the same drive for $129.99 and you can more then likely pick it up in store. Which is what I did. (preclear takes long enough, without having to wait for shipping.)
  11. I called and they asked me to email. I emailed but have yet to hear any thing back.
  12. How easy is it to swap out the motherboard or CPU in these machines? The CPU does not seem powerful enough to handle transcoding. Thank you.
