  1. Any help with that is much appreciated because my brain is running circles for a while now.
  2. If that means that I have to have a duplicate of the entire share. I'm fine with that. I need the complete share to be available to me without having to spin up the drives. Letting mover update the array in the night if there are any changes made.
  3. I'm trying to get a share to exist on the array and at the same time on a cache pool. So that my array protects the files and that I can work with the files from the pool for fast acces. This should lower the wear and tear on the mechanical drives and cut down on my power usage at the same time (kWh prices are high). My feeling is that I'm just missing a setting of some sort. I've already setup a protected cache pool share for my appdata and a non protected cache pool for incomming files to be written to the array later on. And yes I need all the files on the cache and not a portion. Otherwise I would still be using the mech drives to much. Once a day mover could sync the data. One day of work lost is acceptable.
  4. Hi ich777. Have been enjoying the rust server. Great job. Only since the last update/wipe thing. (sorry still Rust noob) The Oxide mod isn't working anymore. It can echo what version it is. But the plugin I use isn't found anymore. The plugin itself didn't move so it should be in right location. Is there something you need to update on the docker side of things? Many thanks.
  5. +1 Storage is always an issue with kids. They don't seem to grasp the fact that "a computer" can get full. I want to allow them acces to my server to write stuff onto it so it will be save. School projects and what not. I've setup the family pc with storage restrictions per account and it works like a charm, basic windows stuff. Only problem with the family pc: no redundancy and not really easy if one wants to remotely acces the files per laptop. So space on the server would be THE option. But with the kids filling up there storage space and having to clean up their storage multiple times a year, I'm not giving them acces to multiple TB of storage.
  6. This is because it is an old i5 6600K. Was my old game pc before. Saving up for a new mobo and cpu. On the wishlist is a i5 13500. And the above is why I couldn't connect. I was trying YOURSERVERIP:28015 and not YOURSERVERIP:28016. I feel like an idiot right now.... I thought gameport was the port to connect to. But changing it to the querry port: And that is why sometime you need a community. You can't do and or know it all by yourself. Thank you ich777
  7. Hi there. I've read multiple articles and it starts to feel like chasing my own tail. Never going to get it. I'm trying to run a RUST server and installed your docker. First with my implementation and that didn't work. So started searching and came back empty handed. So removed the docker and removed the appdata part. Did a fresh install just like ich777 mentioned in this topic. But still can't connect to the server. Heck Steam says Hostname or IP adress invalid. In my router i've fowarded: UDP xxx.xxx.xxx.11:28015 UDP xxx.xxx.xxx.11:28016 TCP xxx.xxx.xxx.11:28017 TCP xxx.xxx.xxx.11:28018 I don't see any IP adress popping up in the log file. I could miss it but ich777 mentioned the last 2 lines or so. Also have read you should wait until: "BradleyAPC Spawned". Well that I did find. Some thing that does strike as odd: "Invalid Position: chicken.corpse" So to summ it up: How to get it visible? I really want to host my own server, just to fool around in and to start learning the game. I removed the docker and the appdata folder reinstalled the docker and let it run for a couple of hours. Also the docker is using CPU power as seen in the screenshot above.
