  1. So I should exclude documents folders containing working documents, and only use this for integrity checking of largely static data, such as photos, home videos, media collection, etc?
  2. Nvme1 was showing in unassigned devices for a few moments and then it too disappeared.
  3. Now, both are showing up, but not in unassigned devices so I can't format them. See attached. unraid-diagnostics-20170325-1151.zip
  4. Here's my diagnostics zip file. Thanks for the help. unraid-diagnostics-20170325-0958.zip
  5. I have the 2x m.2 ssd card from amfeltec. Unfortunately unraid seems to only see one of the SSD's. They are Samsung 960 EVO's. They both show up in BIOS so I believe the card is working. Perhaps this is a compatibility issue with unRAID? Anybody have any ideas?
  6. Need 17TB backup space Have 6TB to offer (for now) but can add some more disks Have 250/20 unlimited internet Located in Ontario, Canada
  7. I'm seeing a ton of the following everytime Plex is transcoding. The directories in question contain .fuse-hidden files. Any ideas what's causing this? 8. Is there a way to set the timezone inside the container?
  9. Updated listing and prices. This is a bargain for a full system. Just add your drives.
  10. Sold the AsRock board, RAM, one PSU and 4 desktop 4TB drives. Updated post above with what's left and adjusted bundle price.
  11. I can try and generate some. Don't have any ready at the moment and no OS installed on either machine currently.
  12. Seen recent posts from a number of people successfully using this card. I'll give it a shot. Decided to use a different case - the iStarUSA S-917 with 5-in-3 cages. Should be interesting to see how cool it runs. Not as well as the Node 804 but the D-1541 shouldn't generate too much heat.
  13. Thanks for the head's up. Unfortunately it's already on its way from Newegg. I can always return it before opening it for a full refund.
  14. Decided to move to server grade hardware in a SFF case. Couldn't resist giving Xeon D a shot, in spite of the price tag. My Fractal R4 is too big for my liking and I want better cooling. I was already using the Node 804 case for a backup server but it was being under-used. What do you think? Uses: Dockers: Plex (10 remote users, at most 5 simultaneous transcodes), PlexPy, PlexRequests, Sonarr, Deluge, CouchPotato, CrashPlan, NZBGet, etc. VMs: Windows 10 Pro, OS X, Ubuntu Server M/B & CPU: SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SDV-TLN4F-O -- has Xeon D-1541 SoC with passmark of 11793. This should handle Plex duty nicely. I want it to be quiet but have really good airflow and performance. Here's my thinking (also see attached sketch)... HDD Section - intake fans on front and back sides to draw air in directly into both HDD cages, exhaust through top above both HDD cages, fans controlled with H-M-L switch integral to case. M/B Section - intake fans at front drawing air over SSDs and M/B, CPU with exhaust at back. No exhaust at top to keep good cross ventilation. Fans all PWM controlled/powered from M/B. So, what does everybody think? The only items I haven't ordered yet are the fans and that's where I'm hoping for some good feedback. Also overall commentary on the build based on its intended use would be appreciated. Thanks!
  15. What about a mini ITX server board with d1540 in the itx-s8?
  16. I wonder if my i6-6700k with tower cooler and attached fan will fit the 380B. This might be a workable option.
  17. Yes, I'm starting to realize this. I wonder if even the other cases propose offer enough ventilation for an i7 with cpu cooler.
  18. I'd really like to build a SFF 8-bay NAS but with good plex performance for 5 simultaneous transcodes. I currently have an i7-6700k quad core CPU with 91W TDP in a mATX board within a Fractal R4. I want a smaller case and hot swap bays. I'd like to use this with a mini ITX case and low profile CPU cooler in a Norco ITX-S8 case ideally for a nice all-in-one solution (much cheaper than buying something like an Antec 900 and adding 5in3 drive cages. Understanding the ITX-S8 is a very compact case, I'm concerned about heat from the 91W CPU. Provided I swap in good fans throughout, should I stop right here and go for a bigger build with 5in3 cages in a larger case with better ventilation or do you think this could work without heat issues? Case is here: http://www.norcotek.com/product/itx-s8/
  19. Got it. Forgot to change to “pc-q35-2.5” from “pc-q35-2.3".
  20. Is it normal to take a long time for the progress bar to complete at the initial apple logo boot screen during the initial boot? Mine's been sitting for 20min at about 3/4 complete with no further movement... should I just restart it?
  21. Unfortunately I dont' think that will work for the photos library: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6991889?tstart=0 You can always create a virtual disk image residing on the unraid array, format it to Mac OS extended journaled and mount it as a second hard drive in the VM Bingo! I'll give that a shot. Thanks!

  23. Question for people that have got this working... can you pass your array shares to be writeable from within the OS X VM? I want to keep the VM image small since it will be on my cache pool which is only 180GB. I want to use the OS X VM to download full size originals of my photos through the photos app. My current photos library is nearly 100GB. How would I make this happen without having to upgrade the capacity of my share pool? Thanks!
