  1. I did try that earlier but to no avail unfortunately. I've ended up using the USB Creator to overwrite my USB with a backup I have from last week. I'll just hold off upgrading again until we maybe go to the next version and then try it again. Many thanks ๐Ÿ™‚
  2. I upgraded from the last version (my Unraid was up to date when it told me about the new version). I didn't read the patch notes though. I just clicked the "Update" button. I'll see if I can find the patch notes and have a read. I'm assuming you didn't see anything untoward in the diagnostics then? Thanks for all your help
  3. The first address didn't work either so here are the diagnositcs... jtserver-diagnostics-20231211-1522.zip I really hope they help. Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚
  4. Hi all My Unraid server alerted me to the new version available for download so I allowed it to download and clicked to reboot. I went away to do something but returned 20 minutes later and it still wasn't up and running? I plugged a monitor/keyboard into my server and it seemed to be working normally but I logged in and typed "poweroff" and then rebooted it. Again, it appears to boot normally (see below) ? Still no access to the WebGUI or any shared drives etc. So I tried to boot into Safe Mode with GUI but then I get this... Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix this? Many thanks for any help you can provide.
  5. Thanks I got sorted in the end. Got a Supermicro H11DSI with an 846 case. It's all running tickety-boo! Thanks for all your help
  6. Yes! That seemed to work - I tried the IP address of the server first but it didn't seem to like it so I used the name of the server instead "\\myshare" and, it said it couldn't find it but it actually DID show up in the list and allow me to put in my credentials and connect to it. So, thank you, without your help I wouldn't have thought to type something into the box instead of just pressing the browse button. Much appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚
  7. I'm working through setting a Windows 10 VM up for the first time in Unraid. I'm using the excellent video by Space Invader One. He's just got to the point where we set up a 'share' and then map that to the Windows VM In the video - he clicks to "Browse" the network and sees the name of his server which then shows a list of all his 'shares'. However, in my installation I don't have that? When I click Browse I just have the name of my NAS boxes and my main PC but NOT the Unraid server? Despite the fact that they are all on the same home network with the same Workgroup? I can access my server and shares from my main PC easily so the network is all talking to each other? Can anyone point me in the right direction of what I should be checking? Many thanks ๐Ÿ™‚
  8. Thanks for getting back to me. During my fault finding I've got myself down a bit of a rabbit hole... I thought my USB was on it's way out so made a new one - then, managed to get the license working but all my dockers were saying "Server not found" so I reinstalled Docker and I'm now wading through trying to get everything up and running again. I appreciate your help with this but I'll mark this as "solved" and then start a new topic if and when I get somewhere (assuming I get stuck). Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚
  9. Hi there, I had Unraid running in a normal PC case for many moons without a hiccup. I decided to invest in some new hardware and bought a Supermicro 846 case along with a Supermicro mobo / new CPUs etc. It booted it up fine and all seemed well (Plex and other dockers worked etc). It's been running 24 hours and I was trying to transfer some media files over to one of the drives and transfer failed and it seems the server crashed. The symptoms were this: I could still access the Unraid backend but, if I clicked "Shares" I got the message "Share 'appdata' has been deleted" and none of my Shared folders showed up. I tried a reboot and it all came back to life again. So, I tried transferring again and it seemed to stop working again so I did a bit of Googling and installed Fix Common Problems. This reports (among a few other things) - "macvlan call traces found" (there's 16 of these entries) ?? I've also got these entries... So, I'm a bit stuck - I don't know what I should be doing? I've Googled macvlan and ipvlan and it's a bit over my head so I'm confused by what action I should be taking (if any) ? I'm running v6.12.3 of Unraid. I don't know if I've got a hardware problem or this is a software issue and (if it is) could it have caused my previous issues? If anyone could help untangle this mess and give me some advice on what I should do here it would be very much appreciated. I've tacked on my 'diagnostics' just in case it's helpful? Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚ jtserver-diagnostics-20230805-1334.zip
  10. Thanks. My only reservation (that I read) was that you needed to use SM motherboards etc inside their cases? Not 100% sure if this is true or not but that is a potential reservation I have. Thanks again for all your help and advice ๐Ÿ™‚
  11. @BennyD thank you so much for the advice (and offer of help). I really appreciate it. I'm thinking of getting the SM 846 then, unless you know of a better 24 bay SM alternative? Thanks again for your help :--)
  12. Hoping you can help. I converted an old PC case to an Unraid server a couple of years ago and I've got the "data hoarding" bug. I'm already up to 87Tb in my old Stormtrooper case. I really want to upgrade to a rack mounted case. Looked at a Supermicro CSE 846 but wondered if there's something else more suited? I want to use the server for all the 'arrs and as a NAS for everyone in the house. But I'd also like to be able to run VMs. So it need to be able to take whatever mobo, gfx card etc that I'd need for this (it will be the subject of a follow up question I'm sure). I would like a minimum of 16 bays but 24 would be good. Money isn't the major driver as I've sold some stuff to get some free cash for this. I read that a 24 bay 4U case is better than a 36 bay case because you can also fit a gfx card into it? I'd quite like to just buy the case and then build it myself if it's doable for a beginner as it would be good to learn? I'm not bothered about noise or power as it's going into the attic and I'm at the later (and lucky) stage of life where I've worked since I was a lad and a few quid here and there doesn't matter. I would love suggestions and advice on this from you. Please don't assume any knowledge. A big thank you for all your help.
  13. Ahhh.. yep, that would have been a good test if I'd been born with brains ๐Ÿ™‚ Sorry matey. ๐Ÿ™‚
  14. Yep, I didn't have a known good drive. The only other one I have is that 2Tb one which wasn't initialising. I've just upgraded my Unraid key and the two new drives are just formatting so 'all good in the hood' as they say. Thanks once again ๐Ÿ™‚
  15. Just reporting back as promised. I'm happy to say (in case it was in any doubt) that you sir, are a genius! That's exactly what was wrong with them. I fitted the tape and bingo! Both drives now show up in my array. I can't thank you enough. I would have never got to the bottom of this without your help so a very very big Thank You. ๐Ÿ™‚
