I recently discovered that the WD Blue SSD drives are based on Marvell 88SS1074 controller. I know that there is issues with Marvell controllers with unraid and I have been having some issues where my server will become unresponsive and I will have to reboot and wait for it to come back up to continue watching my show/movie with plex. It seems completely random and I have run all of the scans and I have enhanced log installed, but nothing comes up. When I discovered this about the WD drive it got me thinking and I think that this issue started to happen after I installed this drive (I could be wrong) Would I be correct in saying that this may be a problem?

Yep... Already did that and things went even darker and unraid would restart after a few min. So I started removing things down to the bare min to run. Removing drives that are not active and removing my SAS card even. Still had the same problems. For some reason when I changed the RAM from Interweaving to Independent. Weird thing is that I noticed that it was utilizing only 16 gigs of my 48 gigs of DDR3 ecc RAM, but now it's showing as using all of the ram on the Dashboard page. The crazy thing is that the RAM has always been set that way and running a check on the RAM didn't bring anything up. When I was on Windows Storage server I didn't have any problems, but I switched from that cause I like Unraid better.

So a couple things that I have done. I copied all of the files off of the thumb drive. Did a fresh install and then put all of the cfg files needed back onto the thumb drive. It seemed to work, but now it seems that I have system stability issues. During a parity check it keeps restarting over. Thinking that it was my SAS card (Adaptec RAID 6805E) I removed the drives from that card (2 of which didn't have any data on, but one was my Parity drive ) I put my parity drive on the MB sata, but it looks like I am still having the same issues Can anyone help? Did you get this card working? It was working in my system and everything seemed fine, but it seemed to cause stability issues and once I pulled this card from my system Unraid became happy again

I was running this card also, I wasn't getting any errors. How ever I wasn't getting any temps either. I actually just pulled this card out of my server cause it was giving me real headaches. What did you end up doing?

I broke the Docker! I don't know what happened... I was trying to install a OpenVPN and after doing so that's when everything went wrong. My server didn't restart, but Unraid would and during that time unable to connect back to the server via the GUI or through Putty. You should suggest everyone to remove this file when converting over from a plug in. Plex would show all of the shows, but for some reason there was some shows that would only play on my Nvidia Shield and not on my PC or Roku/mobile devices. I couldn't figure it out until I deleted the perms.txt file rebooted, waited a while that everything was able to stream to all of my devices

Ignore - I figured it out... You should mention/link the plex-pass... took me some time, but I figured it out though!

This didn't work for me... I tried it multiple times. It would just create a new folder called Plex Media Server Is there a work around? Shows the newest one is 1.9.0.4252 and that I am on Version 1.8.4.4249. I was on the most recent before switching from the plug in that was giving me trouble to the dockers. I am hoping that wont cause me more problems.

Never mind.... I found that it can still be done for up to 5 computers

So I guess that I am more looking for something that will allow me to connect to my server remotely. I have used Hamachi in the past, but it looks like they are charging a premium for access to computers. Unless I am missing something. What I would like to do is create a mesh network like Hamachi would. So that I can access my server Via any device including my mobile devices.

First of all I want to say that I am back! After windows storage sever wouldn't reactivate my storage pool I gave up on it. Now I have moved back to unraid. I relaunched all of my plugins to find that it seems that the admin over the plugins has gone mia. So I started working on setting up Dockers for each plugin and that is going slowly. Currently I work from home, so if I need to access my server I can with out any problems. I would how ever like to create a VPN or something of the sort to be able to access my remotely and to connect my buddies server as another drive (he has a 100mbs connection and I have a 1gbps) so that my Plex server can see and stream from his drives. I logged back into my hamachi to find out that it's now a fully paid service. So what I would like to know which is the best Dockers for Plex, sabnzbd, sonarr, couch potato, and to do what hamachi used to do. Also if there is any other Dockers are now a must have.

It may read it, but it would eventually want/need to be moved to a windows format on the drives correct?

I am moving from Unraid to a windows server. I am doing this cause I now have a dual processor Xeon x5660 and 48 gigs of DDR3 ecc ram and 4 Fusion IO cards. I would love to stay with Unraid, but I can't utilize these fusion io cards with it. So it's time to move on since I want to use these faster SSD PCIe cards to handle my faster Internet. I currently have approx 9 tb of storage... I do have two different boards and stuff... but I am limited on HDD, but I do have 4 fusion IO two 1.6tb and two 785gig. These will not work in the Unraid so I will be switching over to a windows based server. I am planning on having two boxes next to each other one running Unraid and the other my windows server, but I am going to have to move one drive over at a time or something... Any suggestions on how to best accomplish this? PS - it would be easier if Unraid could utilized these Fusion IO cards lol

So I have received a server board with 2 Intel processors (I believe that they are 4 cores each) and two more Fusion IO drives. So now I have a total of 4 Fusion IO drives 2 1.6tb and 2 765gigs. This MB that I got has 7 PCIe slots and I know that I am going to be getting more Fusion IO drives throughout the year. So I really want to start utilizing these drives (Plus I may be getting fiber channel hard drive cards (sorry it's late so I can't remember what they where called, but I have the ability to get them if I wanted them to hook up multiple boxes together). So is there a way to build the drivers for these cards so that Unraid will see them or am I going to have to switch over to windows server and run everything from there now and sadly have to stop using Unraid? Needless to say I have some shuffling to start doing. First swapping out MB ram and so forth. I would really like to cont to use Unraid but with an influx of these higher performance cards I can't just let them sit there and collect dust if you know what I mean.

This for some reason no longer works for me. I had to move the directory back to the cache directory. How can I or should I fix this back to the RAM?

I sent an email out... I wouldn't even be upset if I had to load the drivers each time I rebooted (which is not very often). I am sure that there is some smart person that has a script or something that runs during boot. Additionally I know these PCIe storage cards have been debated and a lot of people even wonder why anyone would run one, but HEY! if it was free and would be kick-a$$ in the server who wouldn't run one?

Is there a way to install the drivers? I have the driers, but need to find a proper way to do so in Unraid.

Well it's actually an PCIe Card... I have the drivers for it... I have one installed into my windows box and it is super fast and with my super fast FttH this would really help things out. I have installed Unassigned Devices and seeing if that works now\ Edit - It doesn't show up... but I still believe that it's because the driver for this PCIe Card is not being loaded I really want to make this work cause it will be a 785GB cache drive that would be super fast!

You shouldn't have to set up more then one plex server. If you have "Certain" shows/movies that you only want her to be able to access you should set up separate folders and/or set up parental guidelines inside of plex. I have multiple users connecting to my server in and outside of my house and I have just set which folders they can access (IE movies/TV, but not my pictures directory and so forth). When you connect into your server via a your favorite browser then go oto settings - users from there you can set up restrictions and also which folders they are able to access. BTW - restrictions might only be able to be used if you have a plex pass - how ever this is well worth getting!

I have been trying to get a recently gifted to me Fusion-io drive to show up to use as a Cache drive IT does show up in the system devices as 06:00.0 Mass storage controller: SanDisk ioDrive2 (rev 04) I have the drivers, but I haven't been able to figure out how to install the drivers to allow the drive to show up BTW - the 2nd Fusion-io drive I installed into my Gaming machine... Now it can keep up with my 1Gbps FttH connection!

So should I have done XFS instead then?

Looking for the easiest way to move drives from reiserfs to btrfs. I have a 3 TB, 2x 2TB, a 1.5TB & a 1TB drive. I have already moved the 1TB drive over, but I haven't done the other 4 because they have data on the drives. Can I/or should I just format one drive at a time? Or is there a way to move the data from one drive to another that I have already formatted? (which might be hard considering that I only have the 1tb drive free)

This is a life saver! Ever since I have switched to V6 plex has been laggy and once I did this things got better... I still need to to switch everything over to Dockers from the plug ins.
