  1. I have been running the 4 sticks at 3200 and have had no problems... I just bought the 2nd set of 4 sticks to fill up all of the ram slots (because why not right?) I use the ram for transcoding with plex. On average I have 4 to 5 transcodes going on a daily bases (It's nice to have a 1Gbps connection) The XMP profile that comes up is for the 3200... I have it set on 2666 and seems to be doing fine right now... I just hate leaving that performance off of the table...
  2. I currently have it running at 2666... I think that I will try 3200 again after a little more time...
  3. Yea I tried auto and it worked for a while (8 hours or so) and then it hung up... Auto puts the ram at like 2133 which is okay with me since it's more about the size of ram since Plex is transcoding using the ram. I will try playing with it more this weekend
  4. System specs ASRock X399 Taichi MB 32 Gigs ram (4x8gigs DDR4 3200 Gskill) https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820231930?Item=N82E16820231930 Threadripper 2590X I purchased another 32gigs of ram to fill all of the slots. When trying to se it to the correct settings of 16-18-18-38 1.35v I get a error... I set it to auto and it loaded and was fine for about 8 hours and then just froze. Works fine with just the 4 sticks of ram and I am currently running the 2nd set of 4 sticks of ram in my gaming computer (I don't know if it's better to have 32 gigs of 3200 vs 16gigs of 3600 for gaming or not) So I don't know if I made a mistake and should just be running 4 sticks of ram for Unraid or if I should keep trying to get all 8 sticks working. Any advice if anyone else has run 8 sticks of ram with a Threadripper would be nice
  5. I just moved that folder off of the thumb drive and that worked. Thanks!
  6. It's a 1Gig drive that I have had forever... Showing that I am using 743mb used and 255MB free Would there be something that I could remove to clean up the flash drive or should I just get a bigger drive?
  7. I have way more then 2gigs and I am getting an error too... I think that I got the same error 1st but now I am getting this one
  8. I don't know what happened.... But I tried to replace the world files, but that didn't work... I ended up make a whole new folder and that seemed to work. I'll have to do some more testing to make sure that everything is still there
  9. So I went in and resorted the worlds from a back up, but it didn't do any thing. Here is the info from the logs window valheim.log
  10. Which log file do you need? appinfo_log.txt configstore_log.txt connection_log.txt
  11. Valheim updated last night and it seems like the docker/image might need an update cause it's running, but I can't connect to it
  12. I guess that I was expecting it to look just like the Array (Parity and then X amount of drives). So I will need to tinker with it more. I am also new to the Cache pool... Only recent;y have I switch from a SSD to a NVME drive and then added a 2nd NVME drive for redundancy. I was figuring of using the extra 6 drives as a back up drive, but now that I have fallen into the "I need more drives" I suspect that I will be purchasing another Disk Array from Ebay.
  13. So I pulled the trigger and moved to 6.9. I put almost all of the drives into the main array. I however have 6 drives that I put into its own pool... It's only giving me 3Tb (it's Six 1Tb drives) and it's not indicating any parity. So did I do something wrong? Also how should it show up on the network?
  14. Thanks for the reply... It looks like I have some more planning to do. When I first started on Unraid I never thought that I would be at the point that I am at now where I need to add more drives and expanding like I am I am guessing that I should upgrade to the 6.9 now vs later?
  15. Just some back ground. I have 12 spinning drives and 2 NVME drives as cache drives.. I just purchased a disk Shelf with Twenty-four 1Tb drives. I understand that I can only have 30 drives under 6.8, but with 6.9 I can have cache pools and if I understand it I can have more then 30 drives at that point. That being said when I go to 6.9 and set up pools I can send one up for Movies, TV, Music, Pictures. When I do so can I just set each category to each one and it will automatically move from the current array to each of the pools? Currently I have 43tb and want to add 24tb from the disk array
  16. I've came across a Ebay listing for this same thing... Did you get it to work?
  17. Who is your internet provider? Are you using encrypted port? Which usenet provider are you using?
  18. Well I am currently at 43.5Tb and increasing. I have all 12 bays filled with drives and I am going to have a 3 Nvm drive cache array here shortly. I have at least 10 drives ranging from 500 gig to 2tb that I could add to Unraid. Currently I am using up 69% of my storage... I have been replacing my drives with 10tb drives, but at the rate it seems like I am consuming that storage I see the long term need to add more drives then just the 12 that I have now
  19. What would be my best solution?
  20. I recently upgraded to Unraid PRO I currently have a 12 bay rack mount Roswell case that I have upgraded all of the drive bays into Hot swap bays. All of this is running on a AMD threadripper 2950, 32gigs of DDR4 3200 ram I recently swapped out my cache drive for NVM drive and will be adding 2 more as a cache pool I have been replacing drives that are smaller then 4tb with 10tb drives and now have a cache of 3tb or smaller drives and since I have upgraded to PRO I would like to add more drives to my setup. Since I don't have more space in my current case I would like to know if something like this https://www.newegg.com/hp-m6720/p/1A0-001P-00GB5 would work to add drives to my setup. I am guessing that I would connect them both via a cable? Or would it be better to purchase another case like this https://www.newegg.com/norco-rpc-4224/p/N82E16811219038?&quicklink=true I would imagine that at sometime I am going to max out the number of drives that the pro version will accept. Looking for the best upgrade path and I am sure there is someone that would have the best solution.
  21. It seemed time...The Dual Xeon was having random reboots and so I started my server upgrade and purchased a Threadripper 2950x adn got a pretty good deal on it too! Now it's time to purchase ram and a MB... I am looking at getting the ASRock X399 Professional Gaming sTR4 It may be over kill, but I am planning on upgrading my switches and computers to 10gig and my internet as the price comes down. Right now I am on a 1Gbps line and I share my server as I have plex installed. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074J6LVBD/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 Would this be a great MB or should I even worry about something so costly? I was also looking at the Gigabyte board https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-X399-AORUS-PRO-Motherboard/dp/B07K8SJPMB/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=GIGABYTE+X399+AORUS+PRO+sTR4+AMD+X399&qid=1586572000&s=electronics&sr=1-1 I basically want to be able to possibly go with a 2990wx at a later time and then use the 2950x and put all of my kids on virtual machines vs each individual computers (which there is 3 of them not including my gaming pc and any laptops/tables)
  22. I never found a way for the Fusion IO drives, but you may want to check out a Intel drive or using a M.2 drive as a cache drive... The Fusion IO drives are a little slow now compared to something newer
  23. Actually since you only have 1 SAS cable you could go with this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-81Y4494-H1110-SAS-2-6Gbps-HBA-LSI-9211-4i-P20-IT-Mode-for-ZFS-FreeNAS-unRAID/163937114433?hash=item262b69d941:g:FjkAAOSwUQBdxo2S But if your going to upgrade to my drives you may want to go with the double port SAS controller
  24. If your using a USB card reader then you should be fine. It would be more for PCIe devices. I removed all of my cards and using an Adaptic SAS card, but I want to pick up a LSI card and you should look into switching to one also. Take a look at this one here https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-LSI-6Gbps-SAS-HBA-LSI-9211-8i-9201-8i-P20-IT-Mode-ZFS-FreeNAS-unRAID/163846248833?hash=item2625ff5981:g:shEAAOSwPKZdbst~
  25. I had to disable VT-d (IOMMU) on my server board too to get it to work. Didn't even know that I had a Marvell Sata Card.
