    I wasn't able to fix this issue when nesting unraid with proxmox as the hypervisor.

    I put this USB3 enclosure on an older HP 800 G6 mini pc and booted unraid there, the system has been stable for 3 days.
  2. TheLinuxGuy's post in 6.12.6 "Main" drive list empty - everything else is working - same behavior in multiple web browsers was marked as the answer   
    I ended up rebooting, and that solved the issue.

    Actually that seems to use RAM space and not the one I had read about.
     
    After some more intensive googling I found the script: https://github.com/bexem/PlexCache
     

    IMO this script is def better than using ram
