AHCI controller card not being recognized
And yet it doesn't. I think I have to enable "legacy" devices in the mobo bios but I can't find the option.

Documenting drives SATA port -> ATA -> mount -> disk#
Wow, I'm an idiot. You said "MAIN" & thought "main"... like the dashboard. I'm having a disc issue so it's not running right now. I'll check when I reboot. Thanks.

Documenting drives SATA port -> ATA -> mount -> disk#
I don't have a "disk log information" icon, nor does my serial number show on my main GUI. Strange.

Documenting drives SATA port -> ATA -> mount -> disk#
I've had some errors on my drives over the years and have noticed that error message sometimes reference the mount letter, sometimes the ata number and sometimes the disk number. Then, if it's a physical problem I have to figure out which sata port the drive is on so I can find it on my rack. Is there somewhere I can inventory all of this info? I'd like to go from the physical drive serial number to the sata port, to the ata number to the unRaid mount letter to the disk number. Thanks.

AHCI controller card not being recognized
I also have an Adaptec 1430A card. The bios on it is v6.0-0 B2322. Has anyone seen an update that address the Intel 600 chip set?

AHCI controller card not being recognized
This might be the ticket. Thanks. I just have to figure out how I'm going to flash the card cause it says it must be done "using Non Intel 600series chipset motherboard". So that rules out the new motherboard. And, the old mobo has already gone to the recycler. Not sure how I'm going to get this card flashed. I'm also going to look around for similar info for my Adaptec card. Thanks again.

Intel 600 series MB have issues with not seeing AS Media ASM1064 SATA host controllers
This is a bit of salvation for me. I've just updated my mobo and the new one uses this chip set. My problem is that the flash tool is windows based & I don't have a Windows desktop that I can install the board into. Then I thought I could build a USB windows boot drive and do it on the server BUT the instructions say it MUST be done "using Non Intel 600series chipset motherboard". So that rules out the new motherboard. And, the old mobo has already gone to the recycler. Not sure how I'm going to get this card flashed.

AHCI controller card not being recognized
So I'm in the process of completely rebuilding my server. I'm jumping about 20 years in technology by going from a motherboard cannibalized from a Dell Optiplex 790 (circa 1993) to an Asrock z690 Extreme motherboard and a 12th gen Intel i5 processor. After a few hickups, I'm at the point where things boot and I can get to the unRaid dashboard. But I have one hardware problem. I have nine drives that I previously ran through the mobo SATA and two AHCI cards. The new motherboard has 8 SATA ports so I retained one of my old AHCI boards. It's an Asmedia 106x SATA Controller ver 4.2. On the old mobo the bios from this card would show during the boot process. With the new one it does not. I've been through the BIOS on the new motherboard and can't find anything to enable this card. I've also tried the card in all of the PCI slots on the motherboard. I also have an Adaptec 1430A controller card and I've tried it with the same result. I know I'm making a huge leap in tech standards and I'm wondering if AHCI cards like this are obsolete. Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've attached my diag files but I suspect the problem is before unRaid starts to boot. rs-diagnostics-20231016-1021.zip

Built a new server... can't boot from my old USB
After posting this I found the hack about rename one folder. Changed it from "EFI-" to "EFI" and my system came to life. Thanks.

Built a new server... can't boot from my old USB
I've completely rebuild my unRaid server with a new motherboard, CPU, RAM, & SSDs. The only thing I've retained are my nine hard drives. The hardware assemble is complete and I can boot into the bios of the motherboard. In the boot options it shows the unRaid USB drive but when I try to boot it just loops back to BIOS set up. Before that happends, I can see the light on the USB drive come on so there is some activity. I've tried the drive in multiple USB ports on the motherboard. So, my question is - do I have to rebuild my boot drive for this new configuration? Here's a few of the details: 1) the old motherboard was from an Dell Optiplex 790 (circa 1993) 2) the USB drive is a 4gb Sandisk formated as FAT32 3) the new motherboard is an AsRock z690 Extreme I've looked through the bios of the new motherboard to see if I have to enable some sort of legacy boot option but a) I can't find any, and b) it appears that it is seeing the SanDisk boot drive. I've completely hit the wall here. Although part of that is because it's probably been over a decade since I build this boot drive and I'm scare to touch what had previously been working. Thanks in advance to the heroes of this community. I know someone will save my bacon (be that pork or vegan based).
