  1. Definitely a problem with the VM, not sure why it's happening though. I scrapped it and created a new vm, no more problems. One interesting tidbit I found, I made sure not to pass through the NIC but for some reason the VM was still seeing it. All other VM's including the new one aren't having that issue and this was a simple rebuild of the VM (if only I had snapshotting)
  2. Looks like it's only happening with this particular vm (the one with the name "...Win11 - Windows 11". Checked the form view and other parameters and I can not for the life of me figure out why this is happening with this VM.
  3. Here's the diagnostics file. I initially needed to pass through the nic to the VM (really two) to flash the firmware and unlock it to use any SFP. Other than that I am no longer passing through either of the Nic's (there's two on the single card) to any vm. I made a change and ended having to delete my network.cfg so here's where things are sitting after disabling the undesired Ethernet ports.
  4. Adding to the above, when I lose the net gui, I don't regain it after I shutdown the vm, I have to reboot the server and flush the dns on my desktop to hit the server again when using the hostname.
  5. Hey all, I just upgraded the NIC in my Unraid server and things have been working just fine until today. As of right now, the computer I typically use to access unraid locally (using hostname) as well as VM's is having issues connecting to everything like it did before. Here's the scenario: Unraid is running, VM is off > I can access the net gui as well as network shares Unraid is running, VM is on > I can no longer access network shares from any computer, may lose access to unraid net gui, may lose ability to RDP (if I can't rdp I can use VNC, if I lose the GUI I can RDP). The failure scenario keep changing each time I start and stop the VM. Notes on the network: set to br0, only one ethernet port is selected to be active, it's a 10g connection. Server has a static IP address Any ideas on what I can try? This is getting ridiculous and I'm very confused as to why things were fine for about a week and now I'm running into issue after issue.
  6. I appreciate the response! The 5GHz channel was initially at 80Mhz, no change in speed when switching to 160Mhz. What's bothering me is using speedtest.net, I can get a download speed of 510Mbps, yet the data transfer from desktop to NAS is almost half of that.
  7. I've been searching and reading posts all day and I can't find anything that would fix this speed issue, does anybody have any input? I've disabled as many services/processes as possible including AV/etc, updated my adapters driver, uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter driver, all with no change.
  8. Alright, I feel a bit dumb but I tested on one of my laptops which has the same link speed (866/866) and am getting an average of 542Mbits/sec. I'll see what I can find, but what would typically be the reason for this? How can I maximize the speed on both my laptop and desktop?
  9. Hello, I am getting low transfer speeds (25-32mb/s) when moving files across the network. The network is gigabit, the unraid server is hardwired and the system I am testing from is connected via Wi-Fi 5, WPA3-Personal, TX/RX 866/866 on the 5GHz band. The drives are 5 WD blue 8tb with two in parity. The parity drives have been removed temporarily during troubleshooting. I ran DiskSpeed And also iperf I also took two sets of diagnostics, one ran during iperf and the other during a Win file transfer mononoke-diagnostics-20230612-1126_WIN_TRANSFER.zipmononoke-diagnostics-20230612-1125_IPERF.zip I am unsure what or where to look next, my searches haven't been very fruitful.
  10. To add, I would also need to create VM's which would need as much power as possible, so it just needs to be dynamic; powerful when necessary, efficient when not in use.
  11. Got it, I appreciate the input. Could you help answer another question or two? My reasoning for attempting to run it in a VM is to get the best power efficiency possible utilizing the 13th generation P/E cores and processor frequency. Is Unraid able to do this as the host or would it always be running the processor on high/max?
  12. Got it, so get a small usb hdd and go from there I'm guessing. Would you happen to know if there's a list of USB devices that can be set as "offline" in Disk Management?
  13. Hey all, I'm new to Unraid and am attempting to run it on a hyper-v as it's a type 1 hypervisor. I tried searching for a solution but couldn't find anything besides "replace USB" which I may need help with.. When booting I run into the "waiting up to 30 sec for device with label UNRAID to come online" but a device is never found regardless of boot option. The bootable USB was cloned to a VHD using MiniTool ShadowMaker as I could not get a USB passthrough to work with hyper-v. Changed secondary attached 50Gb VHD to a 8tb physical HDD. Ram is set to 4096 static. CPU is a 13700K MB is MSI Z690 Physical drives are running through an HBA.
