  1. Is it possible that the wrong activity icon is shown when a drive is active? Are there more people with this problem.

When I play music the wrong activity icon is showing activity, My music is on disk 4 but in tab main disks 2 and 3 are active. I rechecked the location of the music and it's really on disk 4 and disk 4 is inactive.

If you want anyone from LT to look at this, you have to attach your diagnostics file!

Yeah, I know. It was just a question for other users. Not specific for Limetech because I was not completely sure.

Edit: It's working correct now. Not sure what was wrong probably I needed coffee...

  3. Yeah, Linus has made really great videos of unRAID. I also use Plex on my Unraid server because i need the power. At the moment I run all third party apps on unRAID (Docker) and only official Synology apps on the Synology. I think I'm also going to use the RS815+ for cloud and back. Not completely sure of the cloud yet. I also like Owncloud...

  4. Many thank you's for this release!

    Not had any issues...

I have a pro license since 2013. I not always used unRAID but always followed the forums. unRAID has awesome community. Instead of using unRAID I used a Synology NAS. At the moment I'm considering selling the Synology because I use unRAID for a week now (6.2 beta18). unRAID gets better with every release. I'm planning a new unRAID build because my current unRAID server can only hold 5 drives. Thumbs up Limetech!

I have an synology too, 1511+. My plan is to keep it and once the new DSM comes out I will backup all the data on it (some will be moved permanent to unraid) then i will set it up with SHR2 and use it for backups for the unraid :)

I have a RS2413+, RX1214 and RS815+ bought second hand for really good price. At the moment I want to sell the Synology 2413+, RX1214 and keep the RS815+. What I don't like about the Synology that they are underpowered for the services I want to run. So I transfer that to the unRAID server. The next awesome feature of unRAID is that I can use SMR drives!!!

  7. I have issue with Sonarr. When the file is downloaded Sonarr imports the file. I download with SABnzbd on the cache drive. For some reason the downloaded file stays on the cache drive in the correct folder (/TV Series/Lost/Season1/s01e01). The cache drive is disabled for the TV Series directory. Any idea?

    P.S. I run 6.2 beta18

  8. Hi, thanks for answering!

Where do you base this on because if you check the video the guy explains that you can connect 2 sas cables to the backplane. So if I'm correct 12Gbit/s capacity a cable thus 24 Gbit/s in total. 24Gbit/s / 24 drives = 1 Gbit/s a drive. Is this correct?

Edit: Hmm, yeah thus roughly 110MB/s a drive.., and st8000v2 drives can reach 200MB/s?

  9.

Just remember that if you use parity, the speed will be much lower with an expander, but I guess you already know that.

I'm not sure how much slower it will be because the backplane can use 2 channels. So I want to attach it with 2 cables to the HBA card.

I got the case on Wednesday, so haven't installed it yet, but from what I saw the quality is good. I had one slot where the caddy didn't go in/out smoothly, but it was just the metal part the latch locks on that was a millimeter to big. Easily fixed with a light knock with a hammer  :)

I'll check the caddy for the screw holes later today, but I don't think its going to be a problem.

The rails is of OK quality, but I ordered for 80 cm deep rack, so not the same as you can choose on the product page, but I'll take a picture later.

I have a 100 cm deep rack and need 80 cm long rails. I'm not sure if the rails on the product page are the correct one.

  10. Hi, I need some information of a pro.

I have a virtutulization server. I want to convert this to a unRAID server till I have a new unRAID build. I also have a Synology NAS. It has a RAID 5 array of 4x6TB and a second RAID 5 array of 4x2TB. The temporary unRAID Chassis has 5 hot swap bays. I like to add 4 2TB drives. These come out the Synology NAS. The data from these 4 2TB drives will be copied to 4 6TB drives in RAID 5 array on the Synology NAS. There is some space left on this array. So now I have 1 parity drive of 2 TB and have 6 TB protected on the temporary unRAID server. Now I can copy over data. Then i want to replace the 2TB parity drive with a with a 8TB seagate SHR drive also add a second 8TB drive for data. Maybe this month or next month. Then all hot swap bays are full. I will have 14 TB of storage. I hope this enough so I can copy the remaining data of 4x6TB RAID array. If I can place all data on the temporary unRAID server then I can sell the Synology and build a new unRAID server. So I first have to replace the parity drive then the data drives. Correct? Maybe there is a better way please let me know.
