Does the LSI SAS9201-16i support 8, 10 and 12 Tb drives?

After almost 5 months in which I tried all NAS solutions (FreeNAS (even Corral), NAS4Free, OpenMediaVault) I finally decided to give it a try to unRAID.
Let me just tell you: WOW!
What kept me so long for trying all this months with different software was the inability to find a plugin/addon for nextcloud/owncloud. Each software had a issue:
- on freenas the plug wasn't updated since v9; if i tried to manually install there was no complete docs or tutorial
- on nas4free even worst - not even manage to start the instalation
- omv - docker errors
And let me just tell you: i tried very-very hard; lots of reinstallations from 0.
And then: BANG!
Installed unRAID this morning and after only 4-5 hours I have already installed nextcloud without any issues.
I am very grateful and most certain I will buy the license next week.
Thank you!
I also tried all kinds of NAS software, and eventually came back to unRAID. unRAID is really nice, and Docker is awesome. At the moment I'm running a seconde unRAID server. I'm considering to buy a second license.
I have to try Nextcloud.., I'm looking for a self hosted cloud service.

Hi,
What is the procedure to remove a drive and pop in a new drive?
The current drive gives me IO errors, and I'm pretty sure it also did this in a other bay.

Hi Jonathan,
That was a great suggestion. It solved the problem! Never tough about doing this with the offending series. I did go to the series editor, and selected the root tv folder for all series, but that didn't helped.
I still have a problem with permission I'll see the error in the screenshot. I'm not sure if it is possible to set permission, and if it is necessary cause if I'm correct it's already 0777. I also see this behaviour with headphones.

Hi,
I have a bit of a weird situation. Sonarr is complaining about a missing root folder, but if I check by entering the sonarr container there is no problem. If I go into the "tv" folder I see all of my tv shows. This tv show folder is mounted with unassigned devices. The only differences I see is that the owner is "root:root" and not "abc:users" which is the case with the "downloads" folder. Any idea?

Hi Squid, I solved the problem!
When searching I'll find out that some episodes did get imported. Episodes begin with A --> M was no problem, but episodes beginning with N --> Z did not get imported, and gave the message disk full. The problem was I only selected disk1, disk2, disk3 in the disk included checkbox. So I also selected disk4 and disk5 and problem solved!!!

It's getting late, but I will do this tomorrow evening when I come home from work. If you have some to assist tomorrow then I will be grateful. Thank you for the fast reply's.

Thank you for your help.
I experimented a bit tonight. I installed sonarr on the same server as sabnzbd and I installed sonarr on the other server. When I installed sonarr on the same server as sabnzbd I mounted the tv series directory. When I installed sonarr on the other server I mounted the downloads directory. I used the unassigned drives plugin as suggested. Cool plugin btw. I did not set a remote path with Sonarr. With both options I receive the message below (see screenshot). Not sure how to solve this.

Hi CHBMB, sorry for the late reply. The reason I've changed my setup. I have now 2 unRAID server so SABnzbd is running on a different server as Sonarr. Some screenshots below. So I think in this situation I must use the remote path in Sonarr, but I'm not sure how I have to set this...

Cool, 6.4 is already RC. Looking forward when it becomes final!
You guys do me great pleasure with Docker and the possibility to select a custom ip adres. Kudos!

Is it possible in the future to make btrfs storage pool besides a unRAID storage pool?
-
Thanks for the quick reply and the suggestion! I'm going to check this out.

I have several hdd with tv-shows and I noticed that a tv show is on several hdd's. Is it possible (with a tool) to do a sort of a balance that tv-shows are ordered. So for example Lost on hdd1, Battlestar Galatica on hdd2.

Oh I didn't know. Thank you for clarifying. I will checkout the dynamic autofan plugin!

I was searching the forums to lower my fan speed of my case. It's a bit loud at the moment. I came across this plugin and it's look really interesting. I have a Supermicro X11SSM-F-O mobo. I installed the plugin only I can't enable fancontrol.

Please some help.

Yeah I indeed did. Thanks for the help Squid!
-
Yeah your indeed right. If you set your ip adres to static there is some trouble with dns. If I set the DNS to 192.168.10.1 that is the adres of my router Docker is not working. If I add the google DNS server to the network settings it's working but slow. If everything is set to automatic (DHCP) it's working okay.

Docker is throwing me this error:
Not sure if this is related to this rc1 but I have no problem accessing the Internet from other machines.

I suppose this is also applies for the LSI 9201-8i?
