  1. About to transfer my build into this case & am thinking of running 12ish spinners (currently have 8), & at least 2, maybe 4 SSD for cache (not counting NVME). I've read that the be Quiet Dark Power Pro 11 series would be fine for getting all the power cords to their designated places with no problem. Anyone got a build running, say, 16 spinners with a PSU recommendation for the reach of SATA power? I read about Kareon Kables, but if I can have something stock (or close to it) without going the custom cable route, that would be the best case scenario for me.
  2. I'm almost in the same situation. Here is my setup. ASUS Prime Z790-P Wifi i7-12700K 128GB DDR5 RAM ASUS Dual GTX 1070 Dell H310 in IT mode with two breakout cables to 8 SATA drives Will the UHD 770 be better for transcoding through Emby AND in related news, would my H310 perform better in the X16 slot that the GPU resides in? I'm transferring files between the drives & it's between 50-60 MB/s when it gets settled. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hey everyone. This is gonna be a little long-winded so grab a drink. I've been dabbling in NAS for a couple years now. I currently have a Synology DS1520+ with 20GB RAM, & (when it comes back from repair) an Asustor AS6706T with 32GB RAM. Besides little caveats with the Asustor (ugh, please don't), they both do what they're meant to do. However I got turned on to UR via a Reddit post. & with the issues with the Asustor, I'm wanting to build a DIY. First, my computer specs: ROG STRIX Z590-E GAMING WIFI i9 11900k 128GB DDR4 RAM NVIDIA GeForce 1070 I run a decent amount of virtualization for work, old Windows/DOS games, & because I miss After Dark. I want to build an Unraid server that can handle virtualization of Windows Server & Windows 10/11 so I can continue tinkering & learning things on those OS. I also wanna use it for the *arrs, Emby with hardware transcoding, data storage, maybe some streaming, general file sharing, maybe some home assistant, & anything that I may wanna learn/do in the future. My first thought was to put something like what I currently have in a new case (looking at the CS382 if I wanna move to a mATX mobo, CS380 if I wanna stay with a full ATX). My question to the community is this. I'm all about overkill when I can because why not? LOL. Am I thinking WAY too much overkill? I'm thinking that the N5105 in the Asustor isn't gonna do a lot for me for needing to do for virtualization. That & I might find more use cases through Unraid for doing more & more as I learn more & more. Keep in mind my daily driver's specs listed above. I already thought of using those components in a new UR build, but my wife likes the computer hanging on the wall (it's in the Thermaltake Core P3 mounted on an articulating TV mount). My new build would replace both the Synology & Asustor units. I have the itch to build something that would rock anything I throw at it (outside of gaming). But am I seriously potentially wasting money? Also bear in mind that I'd rather not have to upgrade any components in it for some time. I'm glad to answer anything else. Thanks in advance.
