Solutions

  1. frankjc2k's post in ethernet capped at 100mb when I have 1gb fiber; runs full speed on windows; tried new NIC and same issue was marked as the answer   
    I was seriously banging my head on the wall trying everything I could think of swapping cables, using cables from other computers that I knew had a full speed connection. I reset the router, and that didn't work. Lastly, I reset the switch and that did it... Hallelujah! Thanks anyway for the help. Hope this helps someone else in a similar situation.
