Unassigned Devices - Managing Disk Drives and Remote Shares Outside of The Unraid Array
Hello, I am running Unraid 7.3.1 with the latest version of Unassigned Devices. I have a Brother DS-940DW mobile scanner configured to save scans directly to its internal SD card. When the scanner is connected to the Unraid server via USB, it is detected correctly by Unassigned Devices: - Device: Brother DS-940DW - Size: 8.04 GB - Filesystem: vfat - Label: SCANSTOR However, no "Mount" button is offered. Instead, Unassigned Devices only shows a button labeled "PARTITION". From the command line, the device appears as "/dev/sdd". "lsblk -o NAME,SIZE,FSTYPE,LABEL,MOUNTPOINT" shows: sdd 7.5G vfat SCANSTOR "blkid /dev/sdd" returns: /dev/sdd: LABEL_FATBOOT="SCANSTOR" LABEL="SCANSTOR" UUID="154D-61BC" TYPE="vfat" "file -s /dev/sdd" returns: DOS/MBR boot sector OEM-ID "MSWIN4.1" FAT (32 bit) label: "SCANSTOR" "fdisk -l" shows something unusual: Disk /dev/sdd: 7.49 GiB Disk model: DS-940DW Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type /dev/sdd1 4109694196 8219388391 4109694196 1.9T f4 SpeedStor /dev/sdd2 4109694196 8219388391 4109694196 1.9T f4 SpeedStor /dev/sdd3 4109694196 8219388391 4109694196 1.9T f4 SpeedStor /dev/sdd4 4109694196 8219388391 4109694196 1.9T f4 SpeedStor These partition entries appear to be invalid and do not match the actual device size. The SD card itself is known to be healthy and can be read normally on macOS. The scanner is also correctly detected by Linux and the filesystem is recognized as FAT32/VFAT. Also, I had this working a few weeks ago. Has anyone seen a device where the filesystem exists directly on the disk ("/dev/sdd") rather than on a partition ("/dev/sdd1"), causing Unassigned Devices to refuse mounting it? Is there a known workaround or configuration option to force mounting such a device? Any help would be appreciated.

Unassigned Devices - Managing Disk Drives and Remote Shares Outside of The Unraid Array
Hi, the need has come up to connect my Android mobile phone as an external USB disk. I have the "Unassigned Devices" addon installed but it does not show my Android phone, once I connect it via USB cable. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

Can't authenticate from Android's X-Plore
Hello, I am using X-Plore filemanager on Android. I want to send files from my Android phone, via SMB, to my UNRAID server's SMB share. I have set up the SMB share via the auth name and password used in UNRAID's Share settings for that folder. I wonder, whether the auth is applied to all sub folders as well?! What Info do I need to show you, so you could help me analyze this issue? Thanks.

How can I simply run a VWare or VirtualBox VM image?
But dies that mean I can simply "mount" the VM image to Unraid?

Vielen Dank. Ciao, Andreas

How can I simply run a VWare or VirtualBox VM image?
Hi, title says it all. I want to run a little graphical Linux, but would prefer to simply mount a prebuilt VM, that I download from the net. Here is an example.

Write generic ISO to USB Stick. How?
I am not talking about the UNRAID installation. My Desktop PC hard drive has bad blocks and thus I can not boot it. I want to write the ISO image of SystemRescueCD onto an USB stick for initiating a recovery process. The only running system I have is my UNRAID system. Therefore: I download the SystemRescueCD ISO to my UNRAID server's download folder. On the UNRAID host I "burn" the SystemRescueCD to an USB stick. I boot the desktop machine from the USB stick. Eventually modify configurations on the SystemRescueCD and save them on the USB stick (this is why a simple 'dd' is not enough, since it would only copy the ISO image to the USB, but ISO is read-only. Programs like 'usbimager' seem to recreate the ISO as a bootable Linux filesystem on the USB stick)

Write generic ISO to USB Stick. How?
Hello, there are threads about moving UNRAID to an USB stick, etc. But I found no hint, how to "burn" any generic ISO image to an USB stick, like I could do with "usbimager". Also, it seems, I can't find any precompiled "usbimager" for Slackware. Since I want the filesystem on the USB stick to be writable, I can not use "dd", as outlined here under "dd". As always, any ideas?

VM creation error with generic Linux template
Hello, I get this: XML error: Invalid value for attribute 'id' in element 'vendor': Zero is not permitted which hints to a failure validating the XML against its schema. When I switch to "XML view" I get an empty editor, that only shows the XML prolog. I am on Unraid 6.12.13 /boot/config/domain.cfg SERVICE="enable" IMAGE_FILE="/mnt/user/system/libvirt/libvirt.img" IMAGE_SIZE="1" DEBUG="no" DOMAINDIR="/mnt/user/domains/" MEDIADIR="/mnt/user/isos/" VIRTIOISO="" BRNAME="br0" VMSTORAGEMODE="auto" The same happens, when I try to edit/update a VM setup I had already created a few weeks ago. Currently I do not know how to give more information.

Kubuntu - Die VM startet immer mit der ISO-Installationsdatei
Was ist "Unreif"?

Have Firefox Remember Important Settings
I do understand where you are coming from and I respect that. But my issue was: Emphasis added now. I need password manager to remember my passwords for the following local containers (more will come), that I manage via their GUI: AriaNg binhex-minidlna binhex-syncthing CloudBeaver homeassistant Nextcloud openHAB pgadmin4 postgresql15 Redis RoonServer swag YACReaderLibraryServer aria2 I also have other hosts in my LAN (all firewalled and managed), I keep those admin interfaces also as bookmarks (router, etc.). In order to do so, I currently install the Firefox "floccus" addon. It syncs with the bookmarks addon of Nextcloud.
