  1. Do you have a recommendation for a USB stick in the same category—affordable yet reliable—that I could purchase here in Germany? Unfortunately, the model you mentioned is not available in my region. Thank you very much!
  2. Thanks a lot for your help, very much appreciated
  3. Thanks again for the quick help. IT was in the unraid tool. I created the stick anyway and now switched to TPM GUID (that was the option I had). Now everything works again. Thanks a lot. To share some feedback: It would probably be helpful for people if the tool would already inform about that option, otherwise it looks like it is not going to work.
  4. I just bought a brand new USB Stick (SanDisk Cruzer Glide 3.0) and it does not seem to have a GUID...this is extremely annoying. If you know that there are many USB Sticks with that problem, why do you stick to that procedure? This is really annoying. Is there an official list of USB sticks that work? I don't want to spend a fortune to find the right one. Unfortunately, my AI research recommended me exactly that usb stick. I guess there is no chance to work around this issue?
  5. Thanks a lot, that helped solvong the issue, USB stick seems to be broken somehow. But now I have the next problem. Since the new USB drive is blacklisted, I cannot activate the license. I installed the Key via URL but with no effect. Any advice on that one? Is it possible to exchange the USB stick with an internal device? (as seen on the new onboarding scrrens) thanks in advance
  6. Thank you for the support. I did that but error is remaining. i tried to create logfiles but apparently they cannot be written to the usb stick because it is read-only. Could that be the underlying issue? But before the update everything was running smoothly.
  7. i just updated to version 7.3.0 and cannot skip/end the onboarding. On the last screen I get the error "We couldn't finish onboarding right now. Please try again." after clicking on "GO TO DASHBOARD" When I try to close the onboarding, it will immediately pop up again so I cannot get to the dashboard. Thanks for any possible help
  8. Hi Everyone, I followed your instructions but still, videos are not playing (the video ist just closing and the problem seems to be an aidio codec that is not compatible and therefore the transcoding was triggered in the first place). Is it possible that some videos just need too much effort in terms of transcoding for a n5105?
  9. Thanks @JorgeB, I'll try that
  10. @JorgeB thanks a lot, that seems to have done the job to actually move files. Is that a flaw in the mover plugin? My Problem: My desired use case needs that plugin because I want to leave files as long as possible on the (nvme) cache (until it is about 80% full). But that is not possible with the standard built in mover. My plan B would be to move everything from the cache and then manually copy the currently used files back to the cache but that seems rather inconvenient

  12. @itimpi >> from what I undeerstood from your message in August, my setup should work, right?
  13. Hi all, the mover is not any files, no matter if I use the plugin or just the standard mover setting. Also when I manually trigger the "move" button, nothing happens. SETUP I have a rather uncommon setup in which I have a pool device that is the cache. I have another pool device (independent from the first one) that is my media library. New files should go to the cache first and then should be moved to the media library. The Array is for other data and does not have an upstream cache. FYI: To achieve this setup, I had to use the new Unraid 7 version URAID VERSION 7.0.0 beta 4 SHARE/MOVER SETTING So the question is, what could be wrong here so that the mover is not doing its job. Is it only working with the Array? Something that I just realized: when I download new files, they are directly saved on the media_storage and don't even go to the cache anymore, which is exactly the opposite of what should happen Thanks for any advice you can give me. best regards K
  14. That's amazing, thank you so much for the quick answer.
  15. Dear Community, I have a somewhat unconventional use case for Unraid and would appreciate any guidance on achieving it, whether with the current version or the upcoming version 7. Here’s my preferred setup: 1. Array: 2 HDDs with parity for important data. 2. Pool/Cache: 2 SSDs/NVMEs with parity. 3. Another Pool: 6TB HDD dedicated to media files only (without parity). For the array (1), I’m open to adding a cache, but since data transfers are infrequent, it’s not a priority. I understand that setting up a cache for an array is relatively straightforward and is a common practice. The cache (2) should primarily serve the media files. Ideally, I’d like to use it as a cache for the array as well if feasible. My goal is to keep the HDDs spun down most of the time to conserve energy. With a cache of around 1TB and relatively low data transfer, I plan to retain data in the cache as long as possible before transferring it to the media storage (3). Specifically, I’d like to keep data in the cache until it drops below 20% capacity. This way, new files are more likely to be served from the cache rather than the HDD. My main question is: Is this setup achievable with either of the mentioned Unraid versions? Or is this approach fundamentally flawed? If so, could you explain why? I appreciate any insights you can provide. Thank you in advance! Best regards
