Tower cases with 5.25" drive bays top to bottom...
Is this same issue with tabs present in all the cases listed in this thread, such as the Xigmatek Elysium?

SAS/SATA Drive Bays with Individual Power Buttons for Each Drive
I have Chieftec SNT-3141 Backpapane that has power button for each hard drive: https://www.newegg.com/snt-sac3141b/p/N82E16817993016. I really like the feature. I have used some discs only for backup and keep them mostly off. This way, they do not wear out and consume power. The Chieftec is still good, but I am also interested of other products in market that have those power buttons. The Chieftec backpane can have four hard drives for 3x5.25" slots but there are also many backpanes than can have five. One interesting option is Icy Dock FlexCage MB975SP-B R1 https://global.icydock.com/product_45.html. It can have 5 discs and has power buttons for each. It is also tray-less. Are there any other options available with similar features?"

Serial Attached SCSI SAS-5 (45 Gbit/s)
Does someone know what happened to SAS-5? According to this Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_Attached_SCSI, development has started already in 2018. Development is ongoing with number INCITS 561 according to: https://www.t10.org/members/w_sas5.htm. The last documents on the page are from December 2024. I do not have access to T10 documents and did not find any information about the progress. Does someone know better what is going on?

Tower cases with 5.25" drive bays top to bottom...
For those interested in this case, please watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uvtl15-5V1E According to the video, the 5.25" slots have metal tabs that prevent you from installing cages with smooth sides. To install such cages, you would need to either bend or file off the tabs — not something you'd want to do with a brand-new, expensive case. From what I understood, these tabs are located between two 5.25" slots. So if you want to avoid modifying them, your options are limited to hot-swap cages that either occupy exactly two 5.25" slots, or have cutouts/slits where the tabs can fit."
