  1. Deleted and recreated my user. seems to have fixed it. Will cross fingers.
  2. Will try adding a user then, just for shares. thanks again for your time.
  3. "One more thing. Don't use your Windows login name as a login name for Unraid" Seriously? and about that home license, it was free. MS wanted everybody to adopt Win10, they allowed SLIC'ed win 7 machines to opbtain a free Win10 license. But I agree, networking tools are very minimal. I said pro, but that was a brain fart. That was probably a home license.
  4. Yes, that's what I did. recreated credentials and remapped drives. but problem is very intermittent. and it happens on all my shares. As for AI, copilot is even worse. it invented unraid preview versions, told me it lied when confronted, and said it made for a nice conversation that looked believable. I can't believe OPCD will use AI for 911 dispatch. guess they haven't watched 9-1-1. Anyhow, thanks. Worse case I reinstall 10 pro. I know it worked without all the slop in 11.
  5. AI thinks (yeah right) it's something with Win11. But i'm probably far from the only one using Win11 home with Unraid. will have to test further under Linux. but I caught something interesting in my system log Aug 9 06:24:09 Soundwave smbd[36948]: chdir_current_service: vfs_ChDir(/mnt/user/Torrents) failed: Permission denied. 6. OK. What I found (With Google's AI help) net use * /delete /y klist purge Press the Windows Key, type Credential Manager (or Gestionnaire d'identification if it's in French), and hit enter.Click on Windows Credentials (Informations d'identification Windows).Scroll down to the Windows Credentials section, find any entry matching your Unraid server's name or IP address, click it, and hit Remove (Supprimer). ipconfig /flushdns nbtstat -R netsh int ip reset netsh winsock reset Then full shutdown/reboot. What do you think
  7. And, (recurring problem for at least 2 years, ) every file or folder I move from Windows to Unraid is set with the executable flag. When I reboot, I'll try from Linux. 9. Home 25H2. and Yes I use my credentials for the standard user. Problems happen when moving files from the Torrent share to the Plex share. Qbittorrent runs on the Windows machine and then dumps the file onto the Torrent share. And I have np issues with Linux's CLI.
  10. I rebuild the whole server. So I'm guessing the issue I'm having might be related to Windows 11. From time to time, I have to use the Docker Safe New Perms tool because I can't write to a media share. That's the share were Plex stuff is. I've checked the container, perms are set to 99/100. Did not see anything in Posterr and Gaps. Short of trying in Linux, I suspect it's either a corrupt container or Windows messes with SMB behind my back. Server is an Asus Z9PA-U8/E5-2680V2/64GB ECC. Workstation is Asus X99e-ws/Usb3.1 wtih a 2696V4 and 128GB ECC. Issues are can't create folder or move file, or the file is being used (when creating folder) Reposting in proper section. I've attached diagnostics from Unraid's side soundwave-diagnostics-20260808-1231.zip

  18. FIXED! Somehow getting rid of credentials using Credentials Manager didn't do squat. Ended up removing them using an older tool. By running "rundll32.exe keymgr.dll,KRShowKeyMgr" in a command prompt as found on Stack Exchange authentication - How do I clear cached credentials from my Windows Profile? - Information Security Stack Exchange Thanks all...
  19. And creating a new user in Windows (the host) works. But I don't see why it wouldn't work on the linux laptop. I will try something tomorrow using a spare Unraid license.
  20. OK, so it seems something's very wrong with both my kubuntu laptop and my win11 machine. in both VMs (ubuntu and win10), it works.... Any idea why it's not on the win11 host? I deleted the dan user and recreated a new one on the server.
  21. smbstatus says those shares are readonly. But I can't access those either on the Linux laptop. Anyways, there's the screenshot. And no, english is not my first language. I'm from Montreal. But absolutely no problem reading english.
  22. Ok so I created a new user (test) and THAT user has write access to both test and Soundwave (from the Linux laptop I kinda don't trust my Windows install at that point since it tells me something about trying to connect to a shared resource using more than one user is not authorised (or something like that) But the new user WORKS fine in Linux. Some screenshots and a new diagnostics file are included. If it's only a user config hiccup, I guess I could just delete the user and create a new one? Or edit its file? Or restore it from an old flash backup? Thanks in advance. soundwave-diagnostics-20251220-1857.zip
  23. The shares that are not working are all of them (test is not accessible at all. that one is new). The shares are Shockwave, Soundwave, Torrents, isos, system and flash. Those ones I can read files, but not create/delete/modify via network. test was created one or two days ago. I can't even have read access on either a real win11 machine or a kubuntu laptop. VMs on my win11 machine behave the same.
  24. Hello, My flash drive died, I replaced it, copied files from backup and lost write access to my shares. In Windows (10 and 11) and Ubuntu. Everything seems fine on Unraid's side, already ran both New Permissions and Docker Safe New Perms. No change. also tried resetting SMB by renaming config files in /config and restarting Samba, still no write access I can read the files in the shares, but no write access at all. The server is about to learn to fly, please help... I'm attaching my diagnostics. Thanks in advance. soundwave-diagnostics-20251219-1805.zip
