  1. Oh i see... thanks. But then, could that mean that my former build wasn't relying on UEFI, or that my USB wasn't created in that way? (it was ages ago, i can't remember lol)
  2. YES, that did it! Thanks a lot SimonF 🙂!! The renaming of the folder from EFI- to EFI was the ticket. I suspect switching from CSM back to UEFI was automatic, because i spotted a message mentioning no VBIOS support right before the server rebooted. Would you please explain why removing the hyphen "-" from the folder name resolved the issue, and how/why the hyphen appeared at some point in the first place?
  3. Yes, there's an EFI- folder on my flash drive. I will try and rename it.
  4. Yes, I've set it up as IGD, and the monitor is connected to the VGA out on the motherboard itself.
  5. Hi everybody! Last week i ran into some serious issues (well, seriously annoying for sure) with my server (constantly rebooting without even POSTing). After several attempts at troubleshooting for hardware issues and pressed by time to regain access to my work documents, i took the fast option and got a new motherboard, cpu and RAM. These are the following : MSI B560M-A PRO Intel Core i5-10400, 2,9 GHz G.Skill 2x4 GB DDR4-2400 And i'm currently running unRAID 6.9.2 My problem is the following : unless there's a graphics card plugged in the PCIe, the server won't boot to unRAID and instead stays on the BIOS screen. When the graphics card is present, unRaid boots correctly but the screen stays blank, and i can't see the invite screen where i can choose between unRAID OS, GUI, Safe mode etc. Both the motherboard and CPU have intergrated graphics, so i don't understand why a graphics card woud be mandatory for the server to run. Where do i start to fix this? Thanks for your help!
  6. The extended test Completed without error, i have attached the report. deimos-smart-20200709-1351.zip
  7. Okay thank you, i've checked power and SATA (looks fine as far i can tell), and i'm starting an extended SMART test right away!
  8. Allright, i was watching something then got the issue of the video playback freezing at once (no stuttering), then stopping and going straight back to Kodi's dashboard. I've uploaded the whole zip, i hope that's allright! Thanks for your help. deimos-diagnostics-20200709-1300.zip
  9. Thank you, i'll do that next time i can squeeze in a troubleshoot session
  10. Hi everybody, (I hope i'm not double-posting, my searches weren't successful) I've used my unRaid server mainly for media streaming since 2013, but these last few months i've been experiencing issues while streaming videos. At some point, the video starts to stutter, freezes to a halt, and sometimes crashes. Since then i already spent several hours trying to troubleshoot Kodi (and recently created this post on the official Kodi forum). At the moment, i am still trying to find where the problem lies, exactly, but it would seems the issues are caused by transfer rate drops. As i am stating on the Kodi forum - even though i have been an unRaid/Kodi user for years, it has always been a matter of setting it all up then forgetting it because it all worked smoothly almost "straight out of the box", i am no expert at troubleshooting issues so your help is highly appreciated. My question is: how can i test my server to see if there's a problem and fix it? i'm not sure if there is a test procedure i can follow, or maybe a report/log i can post to provide more info? Thanks for your support!
  11. Well Johnnie, it seems that did it, yet again. Not on the first try (had to reboot a few times), and while i swapped the sata cable, i disconnected the other Gb drive completely. After that i was able to Format correctly. Copied my Cache backup from this morning, updated Transmission (als had a message saying that the Docker image was not valid anymore because of the upgrade to v6.4), and now everything seems to run as it should!! So again, thanks a lot for your help
  12. Here's the diagnostic when the 1Tb is mounted and only one slot is configured. The status on the main screen is Unmountable: No file system, this time. (and again, thank you Johnnie!) deimos-diagnostics-20180122-2017.zip
  13. Back home, trying to unmount the 250Gb and mount the 1Tb, but: - if i mount the 1tb and set the number of cache slots to 1, the status is "Unmountable: Unsupported partition layout". When i hit Format, nothing happens (the screen sort of flashes like something should happen, then gives me the same status); - if i mount the 1tb and set the number of cache slots to 2, the status is "Unmountable: no pool uuid". Same behaviour when i try to Format, nothing happens; I still can put the system back to the old state by setting 2 slots and mounting the old 250Gb.
  14. allright that did the trick. I've started a backup of my cache on another drive (there are files there that do not belong on a particular share, as i'm using the cache for Transmission and such). When i come back home later today i'll simply stop the array, switch the drive to the 1TB and restore the backup folders on the new cache. Does this sounds good? Is there something else i need to take care of?
  15. Yes, the filesystem was btrfs.I've attached the diagnostics.deimos-diagnostics-20180121-2216.zip
  16. Hmm, not sure what went wrong here... I wanted to change the cache preference in the Shares tab like you've mentioned, Jonathan, but it seems my 250Gb is now unmountable for lack of a file system (yet btrfs seems to be detected!?). Any way i can mount the drive back without formatting and losing its content?
  17. Okay so i gave the step by step a try after upgrading to 6.4 but i'm stuck a some point. More specifically: - Click on Shares and change to "Yes" all cache shares with "Use cache disk:" set to "Only" or "Prefer" When in Global Share Settings / Cache Settings, the Use cache disk only has a Yes or No setting, but no Only or Prefer. Any idea what i should do next?
  18. Hi everybody, I'd like to swap my 250Gb cache for a 1Tb drive. I've seen several methods here and on the wiki but they're either 6.2 and above or 6.1 and below. Thing is, i run 6.1.3 so i'm not sure which procedure to follow. V6.4 is just out (as of today in fact) so is an upgrade recommended to have the Use cache drive: prefer/replace options available? Thanks for the help!
  19. Thanks for the tip, SSD! I could actually see some sort of oxydation on the faulty (locking) cable connectors. The replacing of this cable did the trick!
  20. Okay so here we are a day later. A single cycle run of Pre-clear passed, this morning before leaving to work i ran another SMART test and, even though i replaced the sata cable i still get 6600 CRC errors - any thoughts about this? Is this result cumulative, meaning that i had 6600 errors with the old cable, 0 with the new, for a total of 6600 errors? i'm planning on running a three cycle pre-clear, is there a point in doing so? deimos-smart-20180116-1840.zip
