  1. I do not have a spare monitor and keyboard to connect directly to the machine for console. I attempted to use Screen software application but it did not work after rebooting into Safe Mode as its part of a plugin and I rebooted with the plugins disabled, I did this as its noted in the guide itself. "That may mean stopping your Dockers, plugins, VM's, and the Mover, if any of those could possibly add files or make changes to the drive being converted. And you should check for and temporarily disable any scheduled backups from other machines. Yes, this can require some careful planning! You may want to consider rebooting into Safe Mode (stops plugins from loading), and disabling any VM's and the Docker service and the Mover."
  2. I booted into Safe Mode with all Plugins disabled, I cannot use Screen anymore, I assume because the plugins are disabled. I am using Putty to enter the commands, I am hopeful that it completes and there are no issues with the session. I assume that if there are I would have to start all over again?
  3. I have installed Screen, I assume I just open a Terminal from the unraid page and type screen to use it?
  4. I have been reading through this thread and the File System Conversion guide on the wiki, I just want to clarify if this is worth all the effort as I would use Option 1, Mirror each disk with rsync, preserving parity. I have a new 8TB Parity HDD and 4x 2TB existing Data drives, I have one new 2TB Data drive formatted to XFS this morning but currently with no data on it. As I understand it this is a perfect opportunity to work on this process, I just need to understand if it is worth the time, my server only contains media files, no personal photos or anything that would be a major issue if lost.
  5. Wow this is great information, thanks for taking the time to investigate as I have noticed significant differences when using previous CPU pinning options. I have a 5930k and if I try to isolate 1,7,2,8 and then assign them to the Windows 10 VM I notice considerable stutter in games and on Youtube, if I change this to 4 physical cores ie 1,2,3,4 then the issues no longer occur. I did not use cores 0, 6 as I have also heard that unRAID prefers these cores. I am going to test out the new method you have posted and will report back.
  6. I too seem to be having the same issue and cannot get a display out for Openelec or Ubuntu. I have an AMD A4 5300 APU and the GTX 750Ti as discrete video card, the card is outputting as I have my HDMI plugged into it and in use for BIOS settings etc.
  7. Hi thanks for all of the info JonP I have setup VM asper your video and enabled all the applicable settings in the BIOS but cannot seem to get Openelec to work. I have an AMD A5300 APU and I am not sure if this requires some specific settings as its an APU vs a PCI video card. Any help is appreciated as I have tried several options so far with no luck.
