  1. Looking for a new kit. Intel 12th gen with DDR. Since that's all I have. Most of miner PSU's are burnt out so I'm checking to see which places sell combo deals with board, processor and/or PSU and PSU. Already have case. Should I just pick and choose and microwarehouse? At At I already have 64GB of memory, don't think I need more.

If you clicked the Upload button before you purged, then you can restore the first benchmark by clicking on the individual drives as instructed in my previous post. If you hadn't uploaded, then they are gone and can't be recovered. If you don't suspect anything wrong with a drive, then you're probably fine with the latest run. As a general rule, you typically don't want to purge and start from scratch. It'll automatically rescan if it detects a change with your drives (or between DiskSpeed versions) but if it doesn't, then you can click the manual scan (left most button).

Having a slow drive in your cache doesn't affect your array speeds.

Cool. I do see the individual drive benchmarks by selecting the drive. Thanks!

    • Thanks 1
  3. EDIT: I rebooted my server for update purposes. When I went back into the diskspeed docker all the results from the last benchmark were not there. Aren't they supposed to be there? I did not perform a purge and the last time I looked at the diskspeed main screen the results were there. Now there is nothing except the option to benchmark drives again. I did save the results as a JPG and uploaded my results to the HD DB. If the results aren't supposed to be there on a docker reload then I'm good. If the results from the last benchmark are supposed to show up, then something is wrong.

I finally got results. And when I view the main screen I see the results now. Purging everything and starting from scratch I guess did the trick. I have a question. I'm using an old 4TB TB drive as a cache drive. It is not used to copy files as a mover or anything, just to save some appdata. Having such a slow drive as my cache, does this slow down my entire array speed?

Okay, everything looks almost ok. Are you saying that you clicked the "Bookmark Drives" button and it finished and displayed the graphs but now it does not? It should be displayed right under that button. Likewise, if you click on any of the drives, it's benchmark will be displayed on it's information page. Here, it doesn't seem that any benchmarks happened.

There's a couple things that could cause this. If you clicked "Purge Everything and start over", that erases your past benchmarks from your system. If the benchmark is somehow invalid such as the abort button was pressed or a benchmark did not complete, it is removed. If the "Abort Benchmark" button updated to "Continue", the benchmark process fully ran successfully.

It's safe to click "Benchmark Drives" or click on one drive and run the benchmark on it for a faster result. If the benchmarks still don't display, run another single drive benchmark and click just to the right of the period at the end of the "Click on a drive label to hide or show it." to toggle the visibility of the hidden iframes that are doing the actual work. If there was an error, it would be displayed there.

If you accidentally erased your benchmarks, you can recover your past benchmarks if you had uploaded them to the hddb by clicking the "Upload Drive & Benchmarks" button. View a drive and click on the "Manage Benchmarks" button. The next page will display every benchmark on your system and what had been uploaded. Click on the drive label in the legend to hide or show individual benchmarks. Any that are visible when you click "Update Benchmarks" are saved locally, the rest are removed locally. Ideal if you have a ton of benchmarks but only want to see your oldest and newest for example.

On a side note, many of your drives don't have images when they exist in the HDDB. When clicking the "Rescan Controllers" button, does it indicate any issues fetching the images?

Ok thanks. I will check it out tonight when I get back. I don't remember doing any single drive benchmarks. I've just done all at once and when finished that screen comes up with ALL the drives benchmarks. That's the page I was looking for. The previous results did finish fine, I just happen to close the browser window by mistake. Is there a default URL that would display that particular page?

If you're asking this, you're likely not using the Docker version of the application or you would see the benchmarks when you opened up the application's site in the given URL's.

    What are you running?

I must have asked the question wrong, I am positively using the docker version. When I select the Webui it takes me to the attached screen. All I would like to see is the last results. I haven't hit any of the buttons, I don't want to accidently erase them. See attached. Thanks.

If you are running DiskSpeed via UNRAID, click on the Docker tab and then click on the DiskSpeed icon. Select "WebUI".

For other installations, use the given IP of the machine running Docker with port 18888.

    Examples:

    http://localhost:18888/

    http://192.168.1.2:18888/

Yes thank you but I wanted to know how to view previous results. I did the testing but closed my browser window by mistake and now when I view the webui it starts from scratch.

  7. Ended up with a Mellanox ConnectX-4 card. Backwards compatible to 10Gbe. It has two SFP+ ports, so I got a couple LC/Fiber optics for it, a nice long fiber line, a nice 16 port all Rj45 copper 10GBE switch along with 2 SFP+. In a few days my network will be %100 10GBE. The only bottleneck is poor unraid. :( The switch I got is the Netgear XS716T 16-Port 10-Gigabit Copper Smart Managed Pro Switch with 2 Copper/SFP+ Combo Ports. Wasn't cheap, but options are really limited in this particular space. Heck 10Gbps should have been available to consumers a long time ago. And switch prices should have been like what are 1Gpbs prices. I just had to do it.

  8. Sent support my GUID information and within minutes had a new key. Great response time!

Upon booting and logging into the GUI, I read the directions that were on the screen.

I guess I will contact support. I've done this before, very long time ago but never had crazy issues like this.

UPDATE: Ok, clicking on "contact support" in several different places just takes me back to the forum. Can someone please be available so I can give you my old GUID and my new GUID so I can get my box back up and running? Thanks!

The flash drive has been mounted read-only because of issues.  A reboot should hopefully repair the flash drive.

Failing that, shutdown and pull the stick and run the filesystem checks on it via Windows.  Failing that, transfer to a new flash device.

I did a filesystem check and Windows found errors. Saved them as *.REC and *.CHK files. I'm making a backup of my flash drive now if it completes. Looks like my flash drive is dying slowly. The Unraid GUI popped up an alert and said " Your flash drive is corrupted or offline. Post your diagnostics in the forum for help. See also here". Right now I downloaded the Unraid USB Flash creator tool. I don't believe I ever used the tool. Does it reinstall the plugins that were previously there. I do have access to my PRO key, but the flash ID will be different. Been a long time since I had to replace my flash drive. What fun, when I should be sleeping. :)

  10. I'll do that now. Oddly upon reboot it is indicating a drive is missing. This drive passed all break-ins and was operating great for a few months. I'll check the cable, maybe even put it in a different slot. Sometimes doing that helps. Hence me switching everything over to a new case, motherboard, new 12Gbps card all using 10Gbe. I know UNRAID won't benefit that much but finally mu internal network will all be 10Gbe. Darn those SFP+/Copper switches are expensive. Come on Enterprise, let some of these switches go!! Not just your left overs. Ok, I'll reply back to see what happens with this filesystem check.

    Thank you.

  11. Sent support my GUID information around 4am-5am and responded back within minutes! All good. Awesome support.

  12. Does anyone know of a plugin or docker that will show you exactly what's happening with your system. I see a lot of outbound humps every 10 seconds split. I'd love to know what program is doing it, exact numbers, just a real good monitor tool. Stats is ok, but limited information and streams just doesn't do it for me.

    Thx.

Flash drive problems, try running chkdsk or recreating it, if still issues replace it.

Well, when I looked at my motherboard lights the boot device light was on, so I did a CTRL-ALT-DEL and it started to boot properly and did the upgrade. I had to do the CTRL-ALT-DEL again, so it is probably the flash drive. I'll chkdsk on it later and/or replace it. I have a few new ones somewhere. Thx.

  14. I am unable to upgrade for some reason.

I and most others have used the mellanox connect x3. You can find dual sfp+ versions on ebay cheap. Why would you want to spend double or triple for one that will work the same? If you want to see if it supports, check the linux kernel version of unraid and see if that chipset has drivers in linux

I would want to buy a card that is still in production at least. The Mellanox ConnectX-3 is EOL. The card in the link in my previous  post is only $160. That's not bad for a dual SFP+ card. Just trying to see if it will work with our Linux kernel.  Thanks for responding.

Can some one help i change my ip address on unraid now can log into my server i fuck up dont know how to reset to default

I think I'm understanding your question. Download Advanced IP Scanner which is free on a Windows desktop and find out what the IP address is of your unraid box, log into it and change it to what IP you want. Or SSH into it and edit the file /boot/config/network.cfg

  17. This may be a stupid question but why are some dual SFP+ cards $400+ and some are $100? For instance here is one for $160 on Amazon.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X9KRRFL?pd_rd_i=B06X9T683K&pf_rd_p=55defc4a-7c1e-47a7-8d1d-5cc458cca688&pf_rd_r=BBVS0FNXC9PPRE1H5HC8&pd_rd_wg=gMcJn&pd_rd_w=HEvUs&pd_rd_r=25169599-2abe-4ad6-a538-7593f86965ab&th=1

Would unraid support a card with that chipset on it? Is there a list somewhere that will let us know if it is compatible?

    Thanks

  18. Unraid has the drivers for this card? I'm also looking to find out which 10GbE cards will work. I'm going 10GbE all the way. Small house, so I'll need to just wait a few weeks until it gets cooler out so my attic temp drops and I don't die of the heat.

On those DAC cables, do the SFP+ modules come off or are they on there permanently?

I'm looking for a 10GbE switch also with a couple SFP+ ports on it as well. Damn they are expensive. Been checking out Mikrotek which several users told me to check out.

    Thanks.

  19. That's the problem, I don't know what it is. I think I have the streams plugin installed, I will check that now.

UPDATE: I think I know what it was. Since my unraid hasn't been online for a little bit my Plex wanted to do a scan of my libraries. I looked at the streams and the machine getting all the information was where my Plex server is out. I killed Plex and the parity went back to normal! Glad at least I figured that one out. Would of driven me crazy. So now Plex is done and the parity is up to 139MB/sec. I turned that feature on Plex where it makes thumbnails and all that. Forgot the name.

  20. All the fans in the system went on and stayed on. It was a dead machine, fans running. Soon as I removed it from the case it has been in for years booted up the very first time. It is doing a VERY slow parity check so I'm just going to leave it there for now.
