UPDATE: got it working. Had to select PRIVLIDGE MODE when editing the docker settings.

Any resolution with this? I get this same error or just a blank white screen with a mouse cursor I can move around. I do see one black dot on the left side of the screen. Here is the entire log:

  3.  Those Ebay cards have the same chipset as the Broadcom I believe, as my friend purchased one from Ebay and it worked fine on his array.  I did order one but have to get new SAS cables and remove the backplanes from my Norcotec 24 hotswap box because those backplanes were advertised only as 6Gbps. I never though of using an expander card since I'm not very familiar with them. Do you just jump a cable from the 8i card to the expander and that 8i can handle the extra drives with no problem?

  4. I tried listing both folder you asked and both came back ok.

    root@SUN:/# ls -al /usr/local/emhttp/webGui
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Jun 19  2016 /usr/local/emhttp/webGui -> plugins/dynamix/

    ls -al /usr/local/emhttp/webGui/Main.page

    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 49 Aug  4  2021 /usr/local/emhttp/webGui/Main.page

  5. This is the output when I try to restart nginx from the command line. The WEBGUI never came back up.

  6. Well,  here is another webgui. Seems this new version is taking down the webgui from reading the threads all around here. These are my diags BEFORE I restarted. Trying to restart the WEBGUI by the command line does not work. Could this be considered a bug or put on the punchlist?

Definately going to need help on this one and what is taking down the GUI everyday. Still accessible via shares, still accessible SSH. What is killing

    "404 Not Found"

    nginx

Now, what is the proper procedure to kill nginx, then another line to start her all back up again.

    sun-diagnostics-20220520-2100.zip

  7. My shares were still up and running fine. I could not access the GUI. I am on 6.10. I tried restarting NGIX but it wouldn't come back. So I just issued the reboot command via command line. Here are the last entries in my log. Could that SDH error have taken down the GUI? You also can see where I tried to restart the GUI on the last two lines with no sucess.

  8. Of course we should include all types of cases, but just like many other websites when they compare the same products they divide them up like 'budget' - 'mid range' - 'high end'. I've seen so many monitor/display reviews like this ( since I'm trying to find a display ) and it just makes it easier to know beforehand the price points since ultimately the buyers budget would be at the top of the priority list.

I didn't see just the case on their site. I wonder how much their AV15 bare case would be? The 30 bay is $2k, so I would imagine the 15 bay one would be around $1k.

Similar situation here.  I have a Q30 as my main server and a Rosewill RSV-4500 configured for 15 HDDs as my backup. The Rosewill case is ok, but is a bit of a pain to work in, and makes me really appreciate the Q30.  The airflow in the Rosewill is better than what I used to have with my 5-in-3 drive cages, but still not as good as in the Q30.

The backup server still runs fine, but was my first build about 10 years ago, and fairly recently transplanted into the Rosewill case.  It uses an older Supermicro board (C2SEA) with a quad-core Core processor but I'd like to have my backup server use  ECC RAM like the main one does.

I probably won't be able to answer your question about the GPU. I haven't moved into using VMs or GPU-based transcoding at this point.

    Good luck.

    Kevin

Isn't the Q30 like $8000 and the Rosewill is $250? I don't think air flow should be compared on two cases so different and priced apart, no? The Rosewill has 3 large fans in the front blowing cool air right over all the drives, and another 3 large fans after the drives exausting that air. I have an old Nortec 24 bay, with only 3 fans after the drives since they are all hot docks. I'm able to keep 18 drives very cool with using the proper fans.

  10. Now that I have large drives with no data and lots of drives %75, is there anything in the apps or docker area that would be able to put the same amount of space across the array or is more or less a manual process I would need to do?

  11. Anyone know any good sources for this card? I've been running my server with 3 Dell H310 flashed with an LSI IT mode. I'm beginning to "think" there may be something funky with one of the cards. I'd rather do a nice upgrade and use the one Broadcom instead of the 3 Dell's. The 9400 is 12Gbps, but I doubt I'll see any performance increase. I don't know.

Hard to find an online store that carries it for a "decent" price. I certainly don't want to pay $1000 for it, which I've seen some price gauging places have it for.

  12. unraidcache.thumb.png.2fd17956aac5d291a680bc71e144daab.pngI have been moving older drives out, keeping the larger/faster drives in place for now. Things have been going great. It is doing the final parity - yahoooo - but my cache drives no longer shows up being unmountable. I don't use mover at all, so the cache drive is where I keep my appdata and stuff I want to keep in isolation. I never touched the cache drive, made any mods to it or fooled around at all. What do you think could of happened? Worst case scenario is I format that drive and start over. Thanks. ALMOST OVER!

  13. Question. I'm just using three disks here in a SCATTER. I'm ticking the check box FROM a 4TB drive and ticking 2 check boxes TO a 10TB with almost all space left and an 18TB drive with most all space left. Why would unbalance only move files to the 18TB drive and not include the 10TB drive? Is there a way to force UNbalance to move files to each of the drives and not just 1?

  14. Rebooted and these are the only entries in my log. From what I can see, it does look like a preclear is happening because it is telling me how long it has been, the speed and estimated finish.

    Elapsed time: 6 hours

    Position: 3.30TB

    Estimated speed: 112MB/s

Estimated finish: 1 day 12 hours 59 minutes

Does that seem normal or too high for an 18TB preclear. I guess I have no choice to just let it continue right?

  15. Waking up, giving the logs a check all  I see is this line. What's going on with my preclear here? Here are also all the diagnostics.

  16. I'm only asking this here because there are lots of smart people here. I have asked this on Windows specific forums with no luck. And have searched Google as well. I have tried several "resolutions" but none of them work.

The issue I am having is I am unable to access my shares ( not unraid ) on my Windows 11 machines. They are all setup to be in a private network, printer and file sharing are on, network discovery, all that good stuff. Get this, I can even turn OFF the Windows firewall and when I try to access a default C$ share all it does it prompts me for a username and password. I've tried making a local user on all the machines so I knew I was using good credentials. When I do this to my Windows 10, it just pops up the C$ with no problems, doesn't ask for credentials at all. I checked credential manager as well. How can a Windows 11 share not be accessible even with a firewall off? Has anyone here run into anything like this with Windows 11? I have no clue what's blocking me from accessing these shares. I have 4 Windows 11 machines and 1 Windows 10. All 4 Windows 11 machines are presenting the same behavior and it is making me go nuts. Of course if I'm on the Windows 11 computer itself and enter the IP or name \\192.168.1.122\C$ it pops right up. Just can't access the default shares or the folders I shared manually which is prohibiting me to do a few things I want. Does anyone have a clue on what could this problem be? Since it happens on 4 completely different computers I know it has to be a specific Windows issue, one that I haven't figured out yet. I'll give you a buffalo nickel if you lead me into resolving this one!!! :)

  17. Anyway, moving right along. Since the hours past fast I let the preclear finish on its own. Once that was done, a quick format and 18TB added to the array. Now I'm moving content off the 2nd 4TB drive that I want to remove from the system. I do have 2 more, so I may get another 18TB and just remove all the 4TB drives. Why I'm trying to do this is because the results of a diskspeed test really show these 4TB drives are pretty significantly slower than the 8TB, 10TB, 18TB drives. And the time on a couple of these drives were 7+ years. Little long in the tooth. So my next step would be to physically remove the empty 4TB drives then select NEW CONFIG and I think once again a parity will be kicked off again. All those who supported me with answering my questions and helping me out, thank you.

Something odd about your description. There is no Tools - Disk Utilities. And there is no preclear without a preclear plugin.

Attach diagnostics and screenshot to your NEXT post in this thread.

I took a quick screen shot.

UPDATE: I just reviewed my plugin list and there is UNNASSIGNED DEVICES PRECLEAR there. When I click on that it does show me the header of what would be values if a disk was there doing a preclear. What was odd with mine, the precleear started by itself but never showed up on that page. If this is the plugin that kicked off my disk preclear is it supposed to show up on that preclear page?

  19. when I cancel the preclear it just sits at a blue square and I cannot get it to sink into the array. Is there a special process I need to do prior to getting that new drive ready or something? I do really want to stop it, but absorb the disk into the array. Not let unraid see it as an un precleared drive so it keeps kicking off that parity.

Suggestions on that? I'm always VERY hesitant when performing disk operations since I have 120TB array and 90TB of it being used. So me always asking questions I "should" know is just reinforcement that I am correct.

With my 2x 6TB and some 14TBs the check is 35 hours.

The OP has smaller drives, so I doubt the 18TB are already installed as Parity.

I already have an 18TB as my parity. I installed that several weeks ago knowing I would be doing this. Parity was rebuilt with no errors.
