Thanks for this - I have it running in a test system but will see what tweaks I can do to get all I can out of it.

If you want to go with a server, go with Intel for the QuickSync. GPU prices are crazy and will be that way for the foreseeable future. I would recommend going with the player direct play route over the transcode though. The Nvidia Shield is awesome and so glad I went with it. Plus the people I share with are still watching stuff at 720p and don't care no matter how many times I try and "help" them. Converting a 4k to 720p is just a waste. Have another Movie group for 4K only and keep it for you.

I am currently running a Ryzen 7 - 3700 (with a 1050ti) running Plex and all the arrr's (radarr, sonarr, etc.) I have a test server that is running an i3-9100 that has QuickSync. I have Plex up and running on both, tested it and those that have to transcode (nothing in my house does), do not notice anything different. My question is, what will I see if I swap the two? Downloads taking longer? Bottlenecks when SABnzbd finishes? A lower power bill? Anyone else made this "downgrade". Am I crazy to think about this? Thanks, -Jason

Thanks! I am in the middle of a (scheduled) Parity Check so I will shut it down and check everything this afternoon. Also I will make the changes to the SATA controller.

Moved server to new location, and cleaned up cabling for all drives (power and data cables) this past weekend. Machine has been running fine until the schedule upgrades for all dockers and plugins fired at 4 am this morning. Now disk1 (the "most used" drive) is reporting Drive is Disabled. My gut is telling me I don't have a cable plugged in all the way but this is the oldest drive I have so I want to be sure. I had a power failure at my house last week and my unraid lost power. I ran a full parity check and nothing seemed incorrect. I did notice Sabnzbd was updated but didn't think anything of it. Fast forward until today, I noticed I am missing a good number of shows I have downloaded and traced it back to the download folder being /data instead of the /downloads I configured. I have several items I would like to grab from there but honestly I can't figure out how to terminal into that folder and move them. I don't see them in the appdata folder at all but the container folders are visible when browsing the /data folder. Any ideas would be very appreciated.

Here is the short version of my story... I created an unRAID box that I made several mistakes in creating (file structure, to many shares, installing plugins wrong, etc.). I want to erase all of the data, upgrade to 6.X and start from scratch. I currently have a 3TB parity, 1 TB cache and 3 data drives (3TB, 3TB, and 2TB). I want to upgrade the parity to a 4TB move the 3TB (old_ parity) to the array and replace the 2TB with a 3TB (being 4TB parity, 1TB cache and 3TBx4 in the array). What is the best way to finish everything here? Do I need to rerun the Pre_Clear on all drives or only the new ones? Thanks for the help/wisdom!

I really appreciate all the work that you do. I finally realized SickBeard was dead and was moving to Sonarr. Cleaning up temp files/folders ...Install complete! success file : Warning: mkdir(): No such file or directory in /usr/local/sbin/installplg on line 29 unable to create directory root@Vault:/boot/config/plugins# Sonar is created under the Settings menu but I get the error - PID not created install failed. Any ideas? I am running UnRaid 5.0rc8a solidly for over a year. Thanks!

Just had the same problem. I had to head to work but as soon as I get home I will remove couchpotato and reboot to see if that fixes it. Thanks!
