  1. Hi, I am using the latest stable unraid and I am experiencing problems whenever i reboot the machine. When the system boots up, the dockers lose some settings. All the autostart switches dont remember the on setting i set. All dockers lose their icons (see attached SAB docker for example) until i re-add them. I dont believe this causes the individual applications to not function correctly, but obviously the update feature is lost when this happens. Also the user defined docker template list empties with every reboot. I have left SAB to take this screenshot before re-adding so you can see the issue. Am i missing something obvious? Thanks in advance
  2. They only show up if i reinstall each docker
  3. Thank you Squid, I will give that a try. I am not sure if this is related (and forgive me as i dont always explain things very well.) but this is what happens to my dockers every time i reboot. Pic attached. How do i solve this as i dont want to have to reinstall every docker every time i reboot.
  4. Ive looked and there isnt any breaks. Also they are showing in the field and in the resultant file that is created on the flash drive but no templates appear in the drop down list
  5. Since updating from the last RC to 6.0 Pro i have lost the ability to add docker repos. I also had to remove all my dockers and re-add them to make them work. Am i missing something i should have done? I have put 6 or 7 repo's in the correct field but only three show, and none of my original RC templates showed after upgrade.
  6. Late reply but since costs are being discussed, thought i would chime back in. At full usage (Performing backups, Trans-coding at max quality to 4 or 5 Plex clients) my server currently has 16 Data drives and uses about 120W of Power. Green Drives and SSD for Cache helps this i believe, but I would suspect that my CPU even at 25% load (most i have seen yet) probably uses half of that. It's worth remembering that not all drives will be spun up at the same time. I liken it to these huge musically timed Christmas Light displays you see on Youtube. You think they use crazy power but not all the lights are on at the same time ever, so not as much as you would think.
  7. Hi I installed MariaDB docker in an effort to get centralised XBMC working again since my upgrade to unraid 6. however when i try to load the mysql command line, i get a command not found error. Am i missing something? how do i do this?
  8. Hi Years ago I built my 20 drive capable server based around the parts in the following post: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=12174.msg115809#msg115809 I figure its time for an upgrade now and wonder if the following components should be compatible with unraid 6?: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asrock-z97-extreme6-intel-z97-s-1150-ddr3-sata-iii-6gb-s-sata-raid-pcie-30-(x16)-dp-dvi-hdmi-atx http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-core-i5-4460-s-1150-haswell-refresh-quad-core-32ghz-34ghz-turbo-1100mhz-gpu-32x-ratio-84w-reta http://www.scan.co.uk/products/16gb-(2x8gb)-corsair-ddr3-vengeance-low-profile-jet-black-pc3-12800-(1600)-non-ecc-cas-10-10-10-27-x I will continue to utilise the case, power supply and other bits. I should mention that the drive list is far different. I have a mix of 1-3TB drives and one of the supermicro cards failed which meant i had to replace it with the newer SAS2LP card which works a treat! Any help would be appreciated.
  9. Hi, I emailed on sunday night because my flash drive corrupted and gave me a floppy error on boot. Tom very kindly replied very quickly on sunday night and asked if i would send my new flash drives GUID over and he would transfer the key over. I replied straight away and have heard nothing since. Whats odd is that i havent had a read reciept either which is leading me to believe my emails arnt getting through. Is anyone else having this issue with the contact page? Thanks in advance as i need access to my data ASAP!
  10. Hi all, So after a day of infuriating failure, please could someone tell me what i am doing wrong! I upgraded to latest unraid today from 4.7. This was so i could use the sickbeard, sabnzbd and xbmc salud plugins. I already use a mysql server on a windows 7 machine so my 4 machines (including 2 raspberry pis) can sync databases. I have installed mysql and xbmc salud on unraid, but nothing seems to be able to connect to the database. ive created the user xbmc and granted access. Query returned ok on both. but nothing will connect. Has anyone got this working? Thanks
  11. I wouldnt mind betting its the Norco 5-in-3's fan that you are hearing. In the UK they are sold as Xcase caddies not Norco, but they are identical and the fan is VERY loud. I have 4 of them in a 1200 and i ended up replacing the fans for some Akasa amber fans.
  12. I've done some research, it seems this has happened to other people. Specifically on page 2 of the this thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=6423.0 Would it be bad form to resurrect that thread?
  13. Ok so after only 20 mins of usage... its crashed. And it happended when i sent a Spindown request to the server. Heres the last 50 lines of the log obtained via telnet:
  14. Thanks for all the suggestions. I have started by Flashing the Bios with the newest version (0402). I have changed the Sata to AHCI and Disabled everything!!! Well nearly everything One thing i have noticed is that the machine boots up extremely fast now... is this me disabling things? There is still the error on the SASLP driver showing half way through the bootup log though. I will now wait and see if this helps before moving on to step two which is tackling the firmware on the SM cards. I would just like to clarify one thing. The HD that "cooked" was pulled from an external USB drive. At no point have I ever knowingly run a Hard disk at extreme temperatures. Thanks again, and i will keep you posted. PS... i attach the bootup log for your records. syslog-2011-04-07.txt
  15. I have done another memtest over night, no issues highlighted. I should point out that the log i posted earlier was after the failiure of the shares for the 2nd time. so to recap: - Shares stop working (disk and user) - web access to unmenu and unraid stop - telnet still functioning - scripts stop working properly (powerdown and reboot get halfway through and then just stop) with the issues pointed out earlier with the supermicro card, is this looking to be a controller issue???
  16. I have done a memtest overnight. No issues found. The only addons I use are unmenu, smtp and email notification. All these have been running for weeks.
  17. You should have grabbed the log when the shares went down but it was still available via telnet. That would have told us a lot more. The original syslog seems to reveal some issues with the Supermicro card you probably have installed. Though your previous post about your hardware is hard to follow as you refer to the SAS-MV8 card but then say it is pci-ex (which does not exist). I am assuming you mean the SASLP-MV8. Yes thats right, its (2 actually) PCI-Express x4 cards, thats what i was trying to say. It is the SASLP card. What are the issues? I wouldnt have the first clue about linux logs. Also, i notice that someone else has reported the same issue here today: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=12192.0
  18. Ok, so 3 days running and now 3 times the server has dropped off the network. Shares do not work, video freezes if i am in the middle of watching something, and yet the server today was accessible by telnet, and fully usuable at the console. I had no choice but to reboot again. This is getting VERY annoying. Cant anybody from Lime help here? I dont understand the logs but you must be able to?
  19. Yes, all drives except the WD20EARS were pulled from USB drive casings. Those two 1.5TB drives had no fans in the enclosures so no wonder they cooked. But this doesnt explain why the whole server dropped off the network. does anybody see anything in the log?

  21. Ok so the Smart tests are underway and I will post them here when they are done. The memory is going to be replaced with some Corsair dominator memory in a couple of weeks. It is worth bearing in mind though that this only started yesterday after 6 weeks of uptime.
  22. Hi again, so for the second time in two days the server has dropped off the network, and will not respond to the powerdown command, which neccessitates me to do a hard reboot, then a parity check. Very annoying and only just started to happen. I attach the log, which i would be grateful if someone could look at and let me know if there is anything obvious? Thanks syslog.txt
  23. Hi, So today i had a Red dot next to one of my drives. The disk "failed" in the middle of streaming video, so i knew it had gone straight away. I did a quick search and found a post where Joe recommended a quick test before replacing the disk, by un-assigning the disk, rebooting and reassigning the disk, letting the array rebuild the data on it. So all seems fine and the rebuild has 400 minutes or so left to run, but heres my question. I inadvertantly hit play on the video that was streaming earlier when the disk failed (yes i checked and this video was on the failed disk) and to my surprise, it played!!! even though the disk was in the middle of being rebuilt! Am i just realising one of the features of unraid?
  24. Hi all, Could someone take a look at my syslog from the last bootup. I rebooted because for the second time this week i noticed a syslog message saying "nobody cared" and ending with "IRQ 16 Disabled" immediately afterwards the file transfer speed to the cache drive from another network machine falls to a complete crawl... maybe 10% of normal speed. The only way to rectify it is to reboot. Any ideas? syslog-2011-03-16.txt
