  1. Anyone done this or know the answer? If I have Transmission on a 4.7 server am I going to run into problems if I try and update SAB fro 0.6.7 to the latest version posted in this thread?
  2. I'm a bit behind the times on all this and therefore have only just installed SABnzbd onto my unRAID 4.7 system, I believe it's 0.6.7. I'm also running Transmission and everything seems to be working together nicely. Reading the warnings about from Prostuff do I assume that I shouldn't try an upgrade due to running Transmission or will this work?
  3. Ah ok I need to look at this and where it has installed. I had assumed(!) that as there was a Lame version before then whatever startup script was needed would be in place. Better check to see what it does on restart then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. That seemed to work, many thanks
  5. Downloaded that thanks. What's the difference between a .txz file and a .tgz file? I have lame-3.98.2-i486-1gds.tgz in the packages folder and the Airplay script uses installpkg as the method to install Lame, I'm not using Airplay at the moment anyway so not to bothered about that package. So can I simply type 'installpkg lame-3.99.5-i686-1cf.txz' ? or do I need to rename the package file to a .tgz?
  6. In order to get my Headphones installation working correctly I need to upgrade the version of Lame I am running and I have drawn a blank on how to do this Currently I have Lame 3.98.2 installed via an early installation of the Airplay package. What I need to do though is update this to Lame 3.99.5 apparently in order for some of the Headphones post processing activities to work properly. Now I have downloaded lame-3.99.5.tar.gz and I have moved this to /boot/packages but I think from memory I need to extract and rename to a .tgz file? Not sure about this point. I believe I need to use the installpkg command but currently that returns an error saying the package was not built with 'makepkg'. Can someone please guide me through the steps I need to take in order to update my current Lame from 3.98.2 to 3.99.5?
  7. I assume so as I haven't changed anything recently. However I can't check as just moved house and all media gear is still in a box, somewhere… once I get back and connected I'll try the buffer change. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Nope, I moved my library to a MySQL and then installed from scratch. Nice and clean that way.
  9. I surprised myself as to how well it worked and glad I messed around with the script to copy at the outset as this works nicely now in this new workflow. Added benefit I found yesterday whilst playing with Headphones, I owe you a beer btw for pointing me in these directions , SB and HP can share the same watch folder as they ignore non tv or music depending on the app. So I have altered my download directory to be a common one now so Transmission grabs the torrents then the script copies to the new watch folder and then either SB or HP deals with depending on the media type. I'm a very happy bunny right now with this setup
  10. Solved this one so I thought I would share my method. To me there is something wrong with the SB 'Scan and Process' process as it wouldn't stop scanning the downloaded torrent directory so the solution hinged on having an empty directory for SB to watch for this process to work correctly. Therefore I created a new directory called 'sbwatch' and used my script I created earlier in this thread which Transmission called once a torrent had finished downloading, so it was useful in the end This script copied the new torrent to the sbwatch directory and I unchecked the setting in SB to keep files post processing. So now I effectively have the same as my original set-up but with an addition copy step and now SB has an empty watch folder.
  11. Hmm, not sure if this is normal but since i have turned on the 'Scan and Process' option yesterday, it hasn't stopped scanning and processing. I have just under 600 files in my final TV directory yet it has so far sent over 700 messages to me that it has downloaded a file. Looking through the TV directory structure I can easily see where it has rolled through as I slightly renamed my files using SB but there are a couple of directories / shows it hasn't touch yet and it is going back through others multiple times? This seems odd behavior and the HDD light of the unRAID server is permanently on! Shouldn't it get to a point that it has scanned all and then just sit idle until a new file/directory is dropped in?
  12. Once tweaked and running off the USB rather than the SD, the menus and GUI are fine. Take a look at this video for demo;
  13. It's absolutely fine Even non tweaked it plays back with no issues but it struggles with the menus of xbmc, bit jumpy to navigate around. So tune the skin with items like turning off the RSS feeds (scrolling txt really hurts the cpu), turning off new added content display etc In fact, have a look at this blog for info; http://youresuchageek.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/howto-raspberry-pi-openelec-on.html
  14. Ok, I'll take it all back, leaving sickbeard to run over my current download directory and post process is actually cleaning up my library rather than duplicating When I looked yesterday there were duplications within xbmc library but this was easily sorted by running a library clean. I've left sickbeard doing it's thing overnight and even though it's still running, when I look into the directory structure of the target, there are no duplications, all files are re-named and .nfo files have been removed. I'm actually quite happy with the result
  15. Looks good. I had a play with Raspbmc for a bit but I really liked the speed of OpenELEC as it doesn't have a Linux dist underneath, just what it needs to run as a MC. Some really neat things in Raspbmc though, gui access to the config file for tuning and tweaking plus it makes it very simple to run from a USB as it provides you the choice on install. In the end I went with OpenELEC due to it's speed and I also use OE on my main HTPC and I wanted to avoid any issues with sharing a MySQL DB between multiple devices and software.
  16. It's working but duplicating everything in my library now I thought this would happen which is why I didn't want to select this but I guess once it's done it's done and then this will be working nicely. I'm running OpenELEC Frodo on the RPi and it's working well. I did it just for something to do over the Christmas break to stop me going mad as the weather was so rubbish. This then led to having a go at MySQL install and now this The performance of the RPi is okay as long as you're not expecting it to be as quick as a HTPC device but for what it is you can't go wrong. I have overclocked mine, run OE from USB, library from MySQL and optimized the skin as much as possible and it works quite well to be honest. Blu-ray movie rips hang but I don't have a lot of these so I'm not that bothered. Bonus is that it acts as a nice head unit for something like this due to it being small, silent with very little power draw, it can stay on and sit between programs like sickbeard and the library DB.
  17. Okay I think I've found the problem. Under the post processing settings I hadn't selected the scan and process button as I feared this would rescan all my tv torrents and potentially mess my library. Re-reading the configuration and it states I needed this selected so I now have done. Sure enough it is re-scanning everything so I'm receiving lots of 'download complete' messages but figure I might as well just leave it to chug through. Hopefully it will be worth the wait and influx of messages Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Also interested on the answer to this so watching with interest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I've spent a long time playing with sickbeard now and it looks really promising, thanks for the tip I have it installed and setup, scanned my current TV media files and it's automatically set to catch the upcoming airings of the still current shows, love this. Integrates well with the projects I played with over Christmas as I now have my xbmc library on MySQL and a Raspberry Pi running xbmc which acts as a nice front end to sickbeard as it's always on. Shame that TV Torrents doesn't support backlog searches but I have now configured ezRSS to grab some missed shows although this only has limited airings. I even have Pushover notifications setup now It seems to work fine apart from the post processing renaming and moving of downloaded torrents For some reason once the torrent is downloaded via Transmission the file is then not moved and renamed by sickbeard. When I find a missed show on ezRSS I select this as wanted via sickbeard, it notifies that its set as backlog followed by another notification that it has grabbed the torrent file. That then drops into my watch folder and Transmission starts the download. I am using the "incomplete" folder for Transmission and once finished this moves the file to the correct download folder. Sickbeard is set to the same download folder but it doesn't move the file(s)/ rename them / notify xbmc or update the library. All the bits I wanted this for. I'll continue to trouble shoot.
  20. Cool, that's a really helpful overview, thanks I understand the difference now. TVtorrents is the main site I use for my TV stuff now so that works out well as I've just read on the sickbeard site that it uses the TVT site along with others.
  21. I'm still on unRAID 4.7, not been brave enough to try and of the beta's of 5 Plus I have no idea how easy/safe/possible it is to upgrade 4.7 to 5 or if that's a new install?? One of those situations where I have very limited Linux knowledge but with a lot of studying I have got unRAID plus some packages like Slimserver, MySQL and Transmission working and I have no idea how hard an upgrade to 5 will be?? If I stay on 4.7 I assume the unMENU package is the method to install sickbeard or have I misunderstood the package advice? I also assume I need to install SABnzbd first? plus obtain a usenet account? Very limited reading so far as I have a 5yr old running around, makes concentration challenging
  22. Thanks for that offer Looks like Prostuff1 has created an unMENU package for sickbeard, just reading the thread now.
  23. Thanks, that's a great help I will report back how I get on but this sounds perfect for me needs
  24. Ah, now that's good. I was just about to start reading up on it so this sounds good already. Yes the script I have written copies the downloaded torrent from the cache drive to a drive in the array. Basically I duplicate so those downloaded can continue to be seeded whilst the files I copy over to the array can be re-named and tidied up to fit my naming structure. I re-seed the torrents as much as poss as the two main torrent sites I use are invite only and download ability relies on ratios so seeding is a must.
  25. Which does sound ideal. The only reservation I have about using something like sickbeard is that I need this running on a Windows machine (?) and therefore another device left on 24/7, or at least during torrent downloads. I may have this wrong as I haven't looked into it enough yet but from your description I really should go and look at this further. In the meantime I have managed to write a little script that runs at torrent download complete which copy's the downloaded files to the main array so I can then rename and place into the final directory structure. This at least takes the main pain away whilst I look into something more functional. Many thanks
